Went out on the lake yesterday with wife and kiddoes for first surf attempt in our new to us 2009 SANTE 230. I have factory ballast plus two fat sacs in the rear. As this boat is much different than anything I'm used to, I left the fatsacs empty. I first completely filled all the factory tanks, and the wake was expectedly totally unsurfable. Speed was set at 10.9 mph.
Next, I added the nauticurl wake gate, Wow did it make a difference! Had a few false starts with the nauticurl coming off, but once we got that figured out it stayed on until we were done. Perhaps next time I'll try filling the fatsacs a little, but this boat was completely surfable with some total newbie riders/driver with factory ballast and a wake plate.
