    GS22 Head Clearance

Close to pulling the trigger on a new GS22. Did a walk through on a demo boat today and noticed the lack of headroom with the tower and dual 8.8 tower speaker combo. Actually hit my head multiple times (I'm 6'3") while moving around the boat. I feel I need to get the 4 speaker option on the tower, as volume and sound quality are important to me.

Question is; those who are on the taller end...Do you get used to the low hanging speakers, or should I scrap the 2 pair on the tower?

Scrap em. I’m still looking in to options for a second pair that are tucked in/out of the tower. Tall folks need the full walkway under the tower. I agree that having 4 speakers from a sound perspective is the way to go.

I am 6' and have the Roswell horn-style tower speakers and it isn't as much of a nuisance as I have on other boats. Their shape seems to give me more headroom than I have had on other boats. The Nautique towers are much better than some other brands for tall people.

I just spoke to the dealer about a 2020 GS22 they have coming in. He said the 2020 can only be ordered with 1 pair of tower speakers...2 pair are no longer an option. Not sure how I feel about this.

Is one pair of 8.8's enough?

I can't speak from listening experience, but my dealer recommended one pair of 8.8's on the GS24 we just ordered. They said two are plenty loud and reduce the head knocking.

Order zero and have one pair of Rev 10’s installed in the outside mount position leaving the walkway clear.
