Weighting your boat?!

I have an 06 210. I have the Wedge tanks in the rear and the belly tank. On top of the wedge tanks i have 150lbs on each side. I took it to the dealer yesterday and he said that the weight was starting to crush the ballast tanks. I was wondering if this is common or if there is a specific way to add additional weight without doing harm to the tanks. I know plenty of people who have about 250 on top of each of their wedged tanks and havent heard of anything going wrong with them.

Re the weighting, i have 350 up front 300 on top the tanks and 350-400 throughout the middle. totalling right round 1000 LBS of lead and the 850LBS of ballast. wodering if this what most people put in their boats.

Try running the weight under the rear seat, just in front of the tanks. That works well for me, and doesn't damage the tanks.

That is rediculous. tell you dealer the tanks need fixed. I had a super air and ran a 350 on each side on top of the tanks. It never messed them up at all. Do you have the piece of carpeted wood on top of the tanks? If you do that should be enough cushion. The way I weighted mine was a 350 on each side of the engine, a 350 under the bow on one side in the nose and then 200 lbs of lead on the other side in the nose. I ran the sac in the nose from the front of the boat down the left side. It worked really well and obviously the wake was sick. You should be able to put as much weight as you want on those tanks.

Yes, i have the carpeted wood on top the tanks. thats why i thought i would be fine.

Yeah, my batteries are there too. How is your lead shaped? My bars actually fit between the seat frame and the side of the boat. It has worked very well for me, but I can see how larger pieces of lead wouldn't fit too well there. There is also a small area directly in front of the wedge tanks.

I have not dealt with Lake Region Repair yet, but I have driven by the location, and have dealt with Chessie Marine, which Lake Region Repair is an extension of. If you had issues with LRR, I would suggest contacting Chessie and letting them know. Send me a PM if you need contact information.

Yeah i have like 1X1 slate blocks, i need to find smaller weights it at all possible. Know of anywhere at i could purshase about 300Lbs of small weights.
