Advanced wakeboarding wake only 230 info needed

Currently have a 2012 230 and many of you may know that wasn't nautique's best wake for wakeboarding, wide, crumbly, needs tons of weight, super sensitive to L/R weight, etc.
Love everything else about the boat... just not the wakeboarding wake.
Question is, how many of the legit riders are familiar with the new 230 hull's WAKEBOARDing wake?
There are tons of threads about wakesurfing for this boat... cant find any about wakebaord wake.
I know G23 is better but is too big and out of my budget. So for now we don't need comments that I shoukd just get a G.

So if anyone has experience with the new 230 hull for wakeboarding only, especially if you came from the 07-13 230, I would love to hear your opinion, thanks

What weight , length, and speed are you running right now? I didn’t find it overly sensitive but I have owned quite a few centurions with deep v’s that were def more sensitive.....Pop bags are a must in there to move around easily to balance the boat with different crews. The key to the 230 is speed . You have to ride faster than most boats, anything loaded up under 23mph will most likely curl . 23.5-24.5 at 75ft seems to be the sweet spot from my experience behind a 2012 . We are primarily wakeboarders so the boat was pretty dialed for that. I know I as at 24.2 on his boat and I ride 23.3 on mine. Wake was def bit peakier on the 230.

Tried it all, this is my 3rd nautique and my least favorite wake of all of them. I've got plenty of weight, 1100's in the rear, stock belly, plus overflow triangle under the bow seats. Also have about 6 lead bags, 3 permanently hidden and 3 that float around as needed. I usually only hit max capacity for wakesurfing, but even still I doubt weight is our issue. I used to ride that fast, speeding up helps narrow and clean it some, but at the expense of ramp/vert. I miss my OG 210 I guess... although otherwise I much prefer the 230.
My question is how do the newer hull's wakeboarding wake compare?

yeah, no help from me...but i feel ya...my buddy had the 2010 230. And we weighted it down a lot and had pretty good luck with it. But finicky side to side, and had to ride faster then we wanted to as we got into our mid 30s/40ish age. I had the 2008 210 was always clean, and narrow...any speed.

Since we were hungry for big wakes he traded the 230 for an axis a24. And another buddy has the axis a22. Axis clean at any speed and not finicky side to side.

Maybe someone on this site can offer you a pull on a late model 230....

Im curious to see some more response here on the newer hull,, I want to move up to a 230 eventually but my crew are not advanced so we ride around 21-22 mph usually. I thought the 230 would be a no brainer for wakeboarding wake but maybe not depending on year.

I agree, my friend's axis is clean and rampy at like 17... if I had kids I might have to leave nautiques for that feature alone.

Its just nice to see a non-surf thread. I run 23-24 on the 230 and that seems to be the key to a clean wake regardless of ballast.

Glad to see this thread as well! Before the G came out, the 230 was "The Boat" for all the nautique pros. If you listen to the Golden Mic podcast, one of the very early ones with Watson & a non nautique pro, you could hear them talking about how the other non nautique pros, love his wake on the 230.
I'd send Murray a DM and ask him how he weighed his 230. Hes pretty responsive to questions, especially if its nautique related.
My buddy has a 2011 230, and the wake is legit - we ride at 24-25mph. NOt crazy slammed -im guessing about 2.5K total on top of the factory ballast.
Basically a sac in each rear locker - (I think its the 750's - not the 1100s)
A 300 sac on the floor against the rear bench (or right on top of the rear bench).
A 300 sac in the walk way to the bow (right next to the driver)
and a 500 (I think) sac in the bow.

This doesn't help with the new hull, but I'm happy with my 2013 230...running 3500# total water ballast. 1100 hundreds in the back, plus the belly tank and the remainder in a triangle sac in the bow under floor(yes, u can get one in there).

with 6-8 adults, a couple hundred pounds of gear and an ice chest placed properly it's pretty nice, but a bit sensitive side to side. Folks know the drill though...hey you here and you there. We usually run 23-23.5 with that size crowd. Can slow down to 22.8 with no one in the boat. Riding at 75'.

Make sure you have the hydro gate at vert (disengaged/up) when running full blast. With it at ramp with full ballast it washes out pretty bad.
I have found that it does help to be on ramp with no ballast for the kiddos. A touch cleaner at slower speeds with little/no ballast....still trying to perfect that

I ultimately want to upgrade to G, but happy with my 230. My Previous boat was 2006 210 and I still miss it...we were shuffling people in that boat also.
