2013 and 2014 had a throttle lever that was electronic throttle, but still had a cable for shifting the transmission. Almost all of them had a really terrible feel. It was rumored for a while that Nautique was going to provide an upgrade kit to install the 2015 electronic throttle and shift by wire unit. But that never materialized. That would require some pretty major rework because the transmission would have to be either changed or it may be possible to retrofit the transmission with the electronic shifting valve assembly.
Of course the 2015 and newer throttles also have issues. They tend to fail such that they tell the ECU that the boat is always in gear. The result is you can't start the boat. But at least when they work, they work very well. But when they do fail, it's a $600 part to replace.
It would probably be easiest to retrofit a pre-2013 cable throttle and shift assembly. They have the best feel of all IMO. Hooking up the shift cable would be a piece of cake. But you'd have to fabricate the mechanical parts to move the 2013 pedal position sensor to the end of a throttle cable.
