NSS plates extended above 13 mph?

My 2020 GS24 extends both NSS surf plates 1" above 13 mph. Dealer says it's normal and that Nautique built it into the new software to add stability. Do any of you have experience with this on a 19-20 GS boat, specifically the GS24?

    Thanks

That doesn't sounds right at all. How do you know they're engaging?

Perhaps the dealer is mixing NSS up with NCRS?

Because of the spray it throws up, I stood on the platform at speed and felt them. They are definitely extended.

Agree, does not sound right. We have a 19 GS22 and NSS does not extend past 13 mph.

Supposedly it's only the 2020 GS24 that does it.

That seems very odd. I've had it happen once on my '18 G23. Completely turning the boat off and restarting it fixed it though.

There is absolutely no way Nautique is purposely deploying both surf plates above surf speeds. That's just not what they're engineered for. IMO opinion you have an issue and your dealer has his head up his butt. Sorry, I can imagine you're frustrated with your new boat.

If Nautique is using the NSS plates in this fashion the boat has serious design problems. I'd have to doubt they'd be letting a product go out the factory that performs that poorly.

I sincerely hope you guys are right. I purposely bought a GS so we could surf, wakeboard, and ski behind it. I'd hate to think I spent this much money on a boat that only does one of those correctly.

What did they say "chine lock" is?

I just got this email response from Nautique and they are calling me tomorrow to discuss.

"The NSS plates do deploy at higher speeds for better handling on the 2019 and 2020 GS24s and on the 2020 GS22s."

Yea. Whoever told you they did is full of BS. I really hate it when dealers do this. They get a question and instead of saying "Let me look into it" because they don't know the answer, they just make one up on the spot so they don't sound dumb.

A few months ago someone here had a boat that was overheating at idle when he first started it. His dealer told him "You have to get up to plane to prime the pump." Complete and utter nonsense....

I'm blown away. Post pics of your ballasted wakeboard wake and non-ballasted slalom wake please.

That comment came straight from Nautique, not the dealer.
