Is it possible (reasonable) to open water slalom behind a SAN 210? If so, what line length, long or short, would produce the smallest bump? Which year SAN is your favorite (least amount of trouble, best graphics, best motor, etc)? Thanks

Sure it is possible. It won't be as nice as a 196 or 206, but it can be done. A ski pylon is optional on the SAN, so be sure the one you're looking at has one. I occasionally slalom open water at 15 and 22 off and don't have too much trouble with it.
The 2003 model year is GENERALLY regarded as one of the best years for the 210. There were several one-year-only items on the '03, and it has the deeper interior, Faria electronic/analog gauges, classic FCT, classic AIR graphics, and push-button releases for the hatches (no knee-buster releases on the sunpad).
Anything mid-'02 and up will have the GM-based engines (Excalibur, ZR-6, Python), and anything earlier will probably have a Ford GT-40 or possibly a Python. All of the engine choices are good. There aren't really any that stand out as poor choices.I own and operate Silver Cove Marine, which is an inboard boat restoration, service, and sales facility located in Mooresville, North Carolina. RE: Slalom behind a SAN 210?
It's not great, but if you're a decent skier you can do it. Mikeski is a very experienced skier. He ran behind my 2001 SAN 34+mph, and 28 off and ripped it up pretty good. Another friend of mine runs open water slalom
behind my boat, full throttle (45-46mph), and 32 Off. Then again he is a two time national speed skiing champion. My point is, the wake is pretty itimidating for less experienced skiers, or under 34mph. If you are a stronger skier, it won't be a world class wake, but it won't bother you too much either. My favorite SAN is the one I own  There seems to be a lot of consensus that the 2003s were the "best" year. BKH2001 Super Air
