As some of you know, I bought a Sunstream FloatLift a few months back. This was their FL6012 model, capable of lifting up to 5,500 pounds. There is an upgrade kit for this lift that increases the capacity to 6,500 pounds, and I planned to install that upgrade and use this lift for the PlanetNautique G23. After having it for a few months, I really liked being able to use it as it is currently configured for pretty much any other boat I have other than the G23, so I decided to buy a second FloatLift, this time a FL10014, which is rated for 10,500 pounds, to use for the G23. Now I'll have two of these lifts, which will be great!
Here's what I like most about these lifts. They just tie up to your dock, so they're not permanently-mounted. They are super easy to move because they are 100% self-contained! They operate by remote control, and use a 12-volt battery that is charged by a solar panel to operate (see the white box mounted to the lift below). My dock doesn't have 220-volt service, so a traditional lift would have required expensive electrical work that wasn't necessary for the FloatLifts. If I ever move to a different house on the lake, I can just tow them over to the new house and tie them up.
I am heading to Florida in a couple of weeks to pick up the FL10014 10,500 pound lift! Can't wait to get it here!
Is anyone else using Sunstream FloatLifts for your boats? How do you like them?
Here's my current FL6012 with my old Ski Nautique on it:

Here is an FL10014 with a G23 on it (this isn't my lift or my boat, but it is the same lift model):

If you haven't seen how these operate, check out this video:
