    2017 Nautique 210 ballast setup

    Hi everybody,
Currently have a 2017 Nautique 210 And been trying few ballast upgrade.
Just wanted to share with you !
And know what’s your best setting.
For info we are both riding goofy.
Completely love the boat and probably not planning to change since I really love the shape, the interior, the look and the wave is decent too. Pretty much the best boat for our lake since it’s restricted to 22' or 5 000 dry weight max.
    Really love the handling too.

After 3 summer with it my best setup come to :
    - Switch pro ballast fatsac (400lbs) with 750’s
I load them approx 600lbs for keeping the storage trays.
    - port side underseat 370 Fatsac (for prop rotation).
    - Sumo 500 bow bag that fills approx 400lbs. I’ve tried the fatsac bowbag 750 but it’s too big, not necessary because it fills half way before popping the seats.
The Sumo 500 fit perfectly under.

All these sacs are piggybacked with OEM so fills and drain with all others really easy to do.

Have few lead weight (4x50) that I displace at strategic place depend on people and riding (skim or surf)

Thing is, this summer we have been almost all season alone my gf and me.
It’s kind of new for us since we was pretty much always with 2-3people more in the boat.
The wave is very different when we are alone.

Im thinking to buy a pair of fat brick (155lbs fatsac) to replace 2 poeple. In that case I can fill them when we’re alone.
I will try to fill the rear 750’s all the way too but honestly I really love the trays for ropes and vests since pretty much all under seat space is taken by fatsac or the Nautique cooler.
Anybody ever tried to put a big bag in the center?
    Is it too much weight?
People who fills 750’s full, where you put your ropes and vets?

what kind of setup are you running with?
And what do you guys i everybody,

That is a lot of weight in the boat. One wrong move and you have a wave crash over the bow. I find that I get a nice wave with less but maybe it could be better with more.

Would be good to see pictures of your wave.

This is a pic of this weekend. With current setup.

Since I have the boat I’ve tried many many setup.
And putting weight on the bow is really a must if you want longer wake for surfstyle.
      NSS at 1-2.

when we skim im not filling bow bag. NSS at 0
      wave is larger but shorter.
      I don’t skim a lot.

when we have a couple of friends, it really makes the wave higher.
thats why I’m thinking to buy 2 fatbrick

We removed pro ballast and replaced with 750’s and took trays out so they fill all the way. Have 500 pounds of lead pretty much midship forward with 150 pound port biased. Went to a 1617 prop last week which also made a nice improvement.

Plenty of photos and talk on here of our wave, it’s great fun for a little 21 footer.

A little confused as to why you are riding the shorter taller wave on a skim board and the longer flatter wave on a surf style board?

We ride surf at 0-5 and skim at 2-4 and speed up to about 11 mph to get it nice and flat with a lot of push.

I'm a big guy and on my 210 I had plenty of push with two 750s filled mostly, my wife only driving, and 200lbs of lead in the bow. Speed of 11.2. I could have used maybe another 50-100 lbs under the glove box, but was otherwise very happy. Adding that much more weight seems almost a little counterproductive to me.

The 210 really does well with weight in the front but...

And yes, too much weight in the bow is potentially dangerous. I had forgotten to take the lead out of the bow when we cruised to a cove and we had two adults and a fairly big child up there. Slowed down too quickly prior to entering the cove and matched up with a wave and sent quite a bit of water over the front. I had to get those three out of the front and to the back pretty quickly. Drains and bilge pumps did their job but it was a gotcha moment of remembering critical safety points and not exceeding design limits.

Your setup sounds a lot like ours, sounds like we have a couple extra hundred in lead in ours. I do really enjoy the setup now even at my size. Right board makes a huge difference as well.

                  Little update on our setup!
                  Today I’ve removed the trays.
And it made day and night difference

                  With the trays
rear 750’s are filling max 550.
the 200lbs + each side really made de difference we were looking
Never thought the trays was taking that much space.
it leave place to put some ropes and vest.
ive removed my side 370 bag and replace it with 300lbs lead, it take much less space and give some more storage.

with the bow bag filled normally (200-250lbs) this setup is by far the best I’ve ever tried with a 210 and just a driver in the boat.

                  Thanks guys.
