It does look like pavati nailed the thruster on a vdrive boat a couple years ago with boat a bow and stern and a feature to hold against the dock. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dmENTebOUa0

Is the premium fuel really that big of a deal? I don't think I've ever bought anything other than 93 on a lake at a marina? Pretty sure you're spending that much on a boat, premium fuel cost isn't gonna be an issue anyways.

As promised, I am back to report my impressions of the Paragon after a short lake ride/drive/demo. I apologize if my comments don't follow any particular order/format.
So, here we go:
1. We all know the weight the boat is listed at. That weight was quite noticeable cutting through chop (this and the hull design, I'm sure). It doesn't feel sluggish, but rather quite substantial. It was very smooth.
2. The electric steering hasn't been touted enough; it is a complete dream. Think about steering your boat full of ballast; you have to really hold onto that steering wheel to ensure it tracks where you want it to go. You can do that with your pinky finger in this boat. It is quite smooth/effortless. The way I would describe our current Gs (for those who have them) is by using a term used in the 4WD world-"bump steer". Our boats have some "bump steer" with full ballast on and wakes/rollers crossing under them from port or starboard. The Paragon has none.
3. The textured (read raised/contoured seating) is very nice. The raised portions are to keep rear ends from sliding; they give you a bit of a "fixed" feel when sitting on them.
4. The wave is just stupid. At "10" (highest setting) it was quite high/steep. (I didn't get to mess with it for any amount of time, so I can't answer a lot more on this.)
5. Battery management is fully automated/very neat. No more battery switch. The system steers the charging to the batteries based upon need, or most needed-if one is precipitously lower.
6. Rear flip up reclining seats-just awesome.
7. Stereo "ditto". The system was built by JL just for this boat. They spent some time discussing what was told to them at the reveal about it. Wake subs were a great idea.
8. I can't explain the link panoray improvements other than this-you don't have to toggle to get to your menu as much. You can just touch parts of the boat on the screen to turn on/off lights in certain locations, heated seats, etc.
9. Tower is very nice. You can squat it right over the windshield (bimini) in inclement weather. Being able to lower it will make my life easier- as I cover my entire G23 from the top of the tower to the bottom of the chines with a boat cover. You never have to touch the bimini (as it is rigid). Just squat the tower down, cover and go. There is convenient, zippered storage in the rear of the bimini (I didn't get to try the fore and aft extended shades)
10. Electric engine cover actuation and tower actuation must be done holding two buttons, hopefully keeping inadvertent operation or young children from jacking with it.
I short, it is clearly a Nautique. You see much of what we have on our boats on this one. The floor layout, seat operation (though enhanced), etc. In that way, I can see many saying, "there is no way I'd pay that price for these differences". I can totally understand this thinking.
Having said all of this...I placed an order. "I must be honest here; I love driving it. It is so choice. If you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up." Ferris Bueller https://youtu.be/0wALArd2rvoLast edited by RDT-G23; 10-27-2019, 05:40 PM.
