    2018 g25

    Hi Guys!

I would kindly like to ask you for your help in terms of experience. I am about to buy the 2018 G25 Super Air. It has 650h - is that a lot? How long do engines last in average?

What should I check before buying the boat? Any general advice?

    Thanks a million!

For a 2018 that is a fair amount, but as long as it's been well maintained that just means the previous owner enjoyed it. Not sure with the newer motors but it's not uncommon to see some older boats go 2,000 hours plus... I have a 08 230 with over 1,100 hours. Other than normal maint items, not really any issues - as long as you take care of them...

Thank you. The boat had service at official dealer every 50h - I have been told.

It if fully loaded with all bells and whistles including trailer. What do you feel would be a fair price for such boat? Its a g25 coastal, including steering assist and trailer...8.8 speakers, enhanced courtesy lights, dual subwoofer..well, everything you can add.

I will have to wait for someone else to chime in as I don't know good pricing on the newer boats.. I would ask for dealer records or talk to servicing dealer..
        Two things going for you:
1: Good time to buy late in the year
2: a little higher hours is a good negotiating tool

As far as I know the "coastal edition" are closed cooling. With some minor differences such as zink anodes and stainless steel shocks etc If I am wrong, please let me know.

Yes that is correct on some of the differences. I have an 2017 230 with the H5 motor. I have 550 hrs as of this year and no real engine issues except the O2 sensors which I replaced this summer. What engine is in the 25' boat?

Mike777......His question means.....for a Saltwater edition boat....is it abnormally corroded or "more dirty" than a normal saltwater edition might be. Not the fact if it is or isn't a saltwater edition. Hope that makes sense.....

Kenv is correct - I realized from your post it was a coastal edition. Your asking about things that affect price and value. "Is it salty" was my shorthand way of asking whether it has actually been used in saltwater. As a general rule boats used in saltwater take hit in price relative to nonsaltwater boats. Someone will come along and in a post or two after this one and tell us how they took care of their saltwater boat and how its just as good as a fresh water boat. I am not going to dispute that or say a saltwater boat can't be maintained amazingly but purely from a market standpoint saltwater boats don't hold their value as well.

Completely understood and agreed. Yes the boat was used in salt water only. I will see the boat in a month. As far as I was told from the local dealer that took care of the boat is that it is in perfect condition. Right now it sits on a trailer, ready for winter. I just need to know the app price range of such boat. I know the condition plays a main role here.

That boat is probably worth $150k before you consider the salt, and the high hours. My completely uneducated guess is you can take 10k or so off for the salt, and another 10k or so for the high hours. I would probably offer $110k and be willing to pay $125k.

But it isn’t my money, so do some more research. Look at onlyinboards.com
