Paragon Competition

So now that we are involved in full fledged analysis and debate over this new boat, its price and overall features...a question... What boats should be deemed as direct competition for it? One of the Pavati models potentially comes to mind; that said, the wave from the Pavati boats has not received particularly good reviews... At any rate, lay it on me.

But that boat looks like a bayliner now...tough sell for Malibu after Nautique just blew them out of the water after their boat was on the market for a week.

Pavati AL24 has a base price of about 320k if I remember correctly, and they do not offer big discounts off MSRP, so that 320k MSRP is going to cost 320k. That's quite a bit more than a loaded Paragon, which also has a near 320k MSRP (Loaded and on a trailer with a good bit of flake/color options), but would likely get a discount that drops it somewhere in the mid 200s.

The M240 is fully loaded and on a blinged out triple axle trailer for $275k MSRP, so it is a good bit cheaper (40k-ish) than the Paragon.

So.... not really much direct competition, that runs in the same price range.

I heard they were only going to make 50. 150 would be an incredible amount this quickly. I don't think malibu ever even sold 150 M235s over the course of the models lifetime.

Just what I heard through the grapevine. I would be surprised if they sold significantly more than that, but I hope they do!

I’ve always been under the impression that recreational boating on a clean and safe lake was a mostly US/Canadian thing. I understand there’s some of this in Australia, a little in Europe, but is there a place where the concept of a second house on a lake with an expensive wake boat is a market that can be capitalized upon? Even with just $100k boats, let alone $250k, I’d imagine that the next frontier is finding new markets for these boats, right? But I don’t imagine the Chinese have a lot of lake houses or vehicles than can tow 8000lbs.

Im sure they are thinking upgrade the $100-$150 K wakeboat owner to become the $250 wakeboat owner would be their main target audiance for the Paragon
