So we are currently in a 2018 210 that we have setup perfectly, throws a nice surf and wakeboard wake and is a great boat. We sold our lake house a couple months ago and are considering moving up to a bigger boat. I am set on the G23 but my wife is concerned about the cost, storage and trans-portability of it. Does anyone have any real world experience with the new 2020 GS 22 hull? It's my understanding they tweaked the hull a bit to put out a better surf wave. I am giving it a run Wednesday but won't get in the water, just be able to put eyes on the wave. Our 210 setup is 750's in the rear compartments and 500 pounds of lead around the boat in just the right places. We are looking for more room and a better surf wave. Any thoughts?

I recently talked to my local dealer about the 2020 GS22 and its changes. He said he was amazed by the changes they made. He said they also made the NSS plate bigger making the surf wave cleaner. I asked him which boat he would want if he could pick any in the show room and he responded with the GS22 for multiple reasons, but two he kept coming back to was the price and the surf wave. He said he likes surfing the 2020 GS wave better because it has a mellow transition unlike the G23 which has a sharp lip at the top which can take some time to get used to.

I did test the GS22 and ended up in a 2020 G23. There was no reason, in my opinion, to spend the extra money to go from the 210 to the GS22. If I did not already have the 210 set up with stereo and ballast then maybe it would have been a little different. I don’t doubt the GS wave could be better than the 210, but marginally better at best. They really need to abandon the port lean back seat in the GS and give that footwell space to storage. Storage was my main problem with the 210 and I did not think the GS solved that at all.
