    Those "other" 2007 boats

So, we are starting to get some sneak peeks at some of the other boat brand's new offerings for 2007. What do you think so far?

Supra - They are quickly becoming one of my favorites. IMO they are making all the right design and functional improvements each year. I like the new graphics, love the gelcoat color and design options, good seating arragement and they throw an extremely nice wake

Mastercraft - Pickleforks are an absolute waste on me, best Nautique decision was going "cockpit forward" on the 220 and putting all seating behind the driver. Other than that...the new gel-cost design has grown on me. Love the vast array of color options. I don't like the new tower, although I don't like any of the "tige-like" towers.

MB - F23....jeesh. "A" for effort for going for a new concept...D- on taking that model to production. The only saving grace could be if once people get in it find it extremely more functional than other boats. Two foot of wasted fiberglass on the end of the picklefork.....although, to be fair, I can't say I've ever seen an MB in person

    RE: Those "other" 2007 boats

I saw the new Tige that is basically and X-star.

I agree that the Supra's look good.

Mastercraft has the best looking boats on the water. If I was in for a new boat, the X-1 would be one of my choices especially if I could get my choices in the color scheme.

CC has taken a step (big step) backwards with their graphics, tower, and no colored deck option. Hopefully they can ammend this soon. Their boats looked way better years ago, they need to open their eyes, or get their heads out of their butts. The 220 is a beauty though and a few refinements will make it awesome. It just seems to me that they lost their graphic identity.

      RE: Those "other" 2007 boats

I think a PS197 with mini tower is one hot boat, as far as looks go. Don't know too much about MC's engines or wake characteristics though.

Supras are good looking boats but I severely dislike large freeboard boats.
I think as far as West coast boats go, Calabria and Sanger do it for me.
I about choked when I first saw the new MB boat, who approved that tower? The Tige tower is also a piece of abstract art. Malibu seems to be catching up in the blind the driver in the eyes bling department
I'll have to get myself up to speed on the rest and report back, I am not into wakeboarding so I only know the big hitters with slalom boats.

What else is out there? Supreme, Moomba, Gekko, Mobius,
      I don\'t care.

Ski Centurion has really long bows, like "cockpit rearward" design. I have a reletive that bought a Mastercraft 06 X2 and they have had a lot of functional/quality problems for instance; center ballast wont empty and dealer tells them that is the way it is designed, mastercraft speed control works poorly, dealer screwed up the order and setup big time. It is a nice looking boat though.

Check it out it's the Batmoboat. I was told that a pair of angle flights, platforms and a big gold chain comes with every boat.

I don't think I will have any interest in "new" boats until the Gold Nautique comes out. I've got 4 more years to get saving!

The Mobius is a model of Moomba. These are the inboard comp brands I can think of in production right now. Some are wakeboard only.

Correct Craft, Mastercraft, Malibu, Skier's Choice (Supra and Moomba), Ski Centurion, Sanger, MB Sport, Session (a division of Regal Boats), SvFara (Rob Shirley, founder of MC and infiniti is now with them), Ski Supreme, Calabria, Elan (what's left of American Skier), Epic, Tige, Gekko.

And some I can think of the aren't around anymore:

Toyota, Pro-Am Skier, Hydrodyne, Brendella (now Calabria), American Skier (now Elan), Marlin Skier, Ski-Ray (don't make the inboard anymore), Infiniti (ski boat now
                  produced by SVFARA). BKH

You may be right. I did a little research back in January when I had read that session would offer diesel engines in their boats. At that time, the website indicated Session as a division of Regal. BKH

I believe BKH is correct, Session is still owned by the parent company of Regal.

Just as Hummers are built by GM but treated as a separate entity, Session boats are manufactured by a world-class maker of performance sport boats and sport cruisers. The construction process holds to the highest standards of quality, reliability and durability. Everyone can appreciate that, from family boaters to hardcore wake boarders.
Supra: Agreed, I really think that given a few years they're going to be a force to be reckoned with. Every year has been an improvement, I'm not a huge fan of the dash, but it's getting better and less cluttered every year.

MB: Interesting design, but I have no idea why anyone would spend 70k on it when they could buy an X-star and have the "prestige" of owning a MC. Boat is unproven thus far so I will wait.

MC: I still don't care much for the picklefork, but I'll admit it's grown on me. I like the color options that MC offers and also the contemporary graphic style on the X-1 and X-2... That said they still don't do much for me.

Bu': Lots of interesting new models, the VTX looks like it might be real competition for the SV-211. The wakesetter VTX however is still un proven. (I'm not even sure if the hulls are done for the WVTX yet...) The VLX remained for the most part unchanged, but definitely became a bit more refined. Still waiting for all the boat companies to drop the toggle switches and go with something like CC.

Tige: Not a huge fan, the new RZ2 makes me want to throw up a bit, and their towers are still hideous.

CC: Interested to see what they do this year. IMO this will be a year that makes them or breaks them, because they will now have so many more boats to sell. They might realize that they actually have to listen to the consumer instead of being stubborn and awkward. The thought of a mini 220 definitely intrigues me, especially with the option of normal wrap around seating. (No more of that ridiculous I/O looking rear hatch?) I will be curious to see what they do with the towers this year, hopefully at the very least they will make a tower that looks proportional on the 210. I really wish that they would bring back the short windshield, but that ain't happening. I hate long windshields with a passion after driving the VLX for a few months. It's a pain not being able to easily communicate with the rider. But I guess CC thinks that it looks good? (IMO it really screws up the lines of the 210.) I don't really care about graphics all that much as my next boat probably will be ordered without them. But I think something could be said for the popularity of multiple graphic choices A-la Bu and MC...

It's definitely going to be an interesting year for all companies. But, I think that most are moving forward.
                          How about \"Chales\"?

                          RIP Nikolai (\'05 SANTE) 5/23/05 - 4/30/06

Just spent 2hrs on a '07 220. That is a cool boat. I dont think it changed much from the '06 but man-o-man it sure makes the "i want a new boat" jucies flow. Also saw '07 211 in showroom and this year there are several interior upgrades that are real cool. The seat cushions seem to roll over the top deck( im sure that doesnt make sense, but I really liked it) Made the cockpit seem deeper. Gages are all different also.Cool also. I think CC has some great offerings for '07. ( 100" beam 25' 236, its coming) Im sure all this is old news to you guys, but just my 2cents. Dee
