I have thought about this also. If the floor is strong enough it should be easy to put in the mount for the base of the table. There is a couple of inches between the floor and the gas tank. Since the floor is removable the work should be able to be done outside the boat.
I wouldn't do it, I don't think there is enough space on top of the tank to have a flush mounted post receptacle, the floor is not that strong either. My friend's Malibu table was pretty useless, we always found a cooler top to work better. I was never quite sold on the table in a ski/boarding boat anyway (call me a purist but I don't approve of tube holders either).
Take the floor out and look. There is a hole in the top of the tank (in fact, it goes all the way through to the hull) to receive the table bracket. Ours has a thick piece of foam across the top of the tank that covers the hole and foam that is in between the tank and the stringers. , I am assuming this foam is there to force the airflow from the blower or while driving to scrub the hull for fumes instead of going over or around the tank.
Just for information, my boat has the removable table, and we have used it maybe twice. It just sits in storage collecting dust now. When you want it, you have to claen out a locker to get it out, then it takes up so much space, and then you have to clean out a locker to put it away. Waste of space in my book.
