Sell or Keep? Market for ~60k boats?

I would agree that the G is not as sensitive side-to-side as the 230.

I would also agree that the G can have a good wake at low speeds with no ballast.

None of these flat-bottom boats are going to handle chop as well as a deep-V boat.

As someone who briefly considered a G about six months ago and ended up with a 230, I’ll say that the biggest thing thing the 230 had over the G is value. It isn’t the “premier” wakeboard boat or even Nautique, as the G interior is a bit fancier, extra space in the bow, the ballast, H6, etc.. But TO ME none of those justified the extra cost, to a lot of people they do. I’m 37 so I’m past the days of anything more than a wake-wake jump so having the Ferrari of wakeboats wasn’t necessary when the Porsche will do. I surf a lot so that was important and I loved the wave of my 210 and the 230 is even better. The 230 could be towed by my Toyota SUV with an 8100lb limit, the G could not (safely). I did not need to upgrade my lift. The 230 is great for cruising and even better at slow speed and the extra length and weight reduces the abuse of chop on those windy days. The G would probably reduce the chop more, but for me, not $40k more. I would probably need to spend $10k on the thruster if I wanted my wife to dock a G.

But the important stuff that is shared between the two boats is still there: most importantly the Nautique quality and craftsmanship, the surf systems, ballast systems, linc panoray, etc etc. Those who have the G love them and they saw the value in those things the 230 does not have. Simply a matter of personal preference and I’ll admire a G on the lake without fail.

If I won the lottery would I upgrade immediately to a G? Probably not. I’d still be happy with the 230 and maybe save the upgrade for down the line. I’d probably spend all that upgrade coin on a (used) Cirrus to get to the lake faster so I can use the boat more.

1. Both the G and and 230 have a finiky wakeboard wake side to side....imho 230 is somewhat worse, not hugely worse


2. The G series has a poor low speed wake... imho both are bad but g series is a little worse, not hugely worse


3. The Gseries do not handle chop as well as a 230...imho g series worse by a relatively wide margin...

Thanks for the input and looks like the opinion varies. Guess I'll need to take good test drive before making the switch.

Shocked to hear people saying the G is worse in chop, it certainly makes sense, but with all that freeboard I'd never considered it would be an issue.

I wouldn’t put too much stock into that particular opinion. The G handles chop excellently. We often cross a very choppy lake to get to different coves depending on wind directions. Our G23 does so much better in heavy chop that my friend with a 210 follows us so that we can clear the water for him. I can’t imagine the 230 being much better than the 210.

I have a 2011 230 without the NSS. Thinking about adding 740 lockers and 540 front to help surf. Any comments about people doing that ? I have it listed to sale around 58. Hope to get mid 50

If you're keeping it for yourself I'd go with 1100's in the rear
