New PCM Engine -- ZZ8 -- 600 HP

I was designing a Paragon on Design Your Nautique, and I noticed a new engine option.

Our most powerful engine available, the brand-new PCM ZZ8 is a supercharged and direct-injection engine that brings more horsepower and torque than anything else on the watersports market.

• PCM Model: ZZ8
• Displacement: 6.2L
• Torque: 608
• HP: 600
• Fuel System: Direct Injection
• Exhaust System: CXS Gen 2 (Catanium Exhaust System)

I had heard rumors of this new engine, but this is the first time I have seen specs.

must have needed something bigger to push that monster!! you can only tweek a prop so much to get you moving....

Does the upgrade come with a tanker that can do UNREPs while you're surfing? I feel like that might be important so you don't have to stop for fuel ever 15 minutes. Boatswain mate not included however.

Since this engine is DI, it will likely use significantly less gas than the 550.

I’d rather see the diesel option come to play! Also does anyone know if the prop shaft was upgraded on the P23/25 from the G23/25? Seems to me with these heavier boats and now more power if the shafts are still the same we might see more failures possible. That’s been a black mark for years now... would hate to see such an oversight on a significantly more expensive boat!

That's already out there. Look at the G23 in Design Your Nautique.

I have a 2017 G23 in which I had my shaft sheer last summer. When the dealer replaced the shaft it was of an upgraded design vs the one that sheered. So to answer part of your question, Nautique has upgraded the shaft on the G23/G25 from the problem year model shafts. I don't know if the P23/P25 shafts are of a different design than the G23/G25 shafts but you make a good point that there could be failures again because the shaft may not support the added +/- 1,200 lb boat weight and torque of a P23/P25 over the G23/G25

So they offer it in the G23/25 but not the P23/25 yet!?! I thought it was still just in the test stages and didn’t realize you could actually order it as an option.

Man I would love to have a diesel engine in my boat. Better fuel economy and I could run off road diesel which is cheaper than ethanol free 87 octane.
