Why no slalom skis on tower?

I'm considering a 211 but I wonder why we never see pictures of slalom skis on the tower. We usually head out with 4 skis and they are piled like cord wood in the boat. A ski rack on the tower would be perfect. I understand the tower is used for boarding.

I saw a couple of pics, that are no longer there, on the MD Boats website(www.mdboats.com) customer photo section, so I'm guessing they sell Tower Slalom racks if your looking for some.

I'm guessing the majority of hard core slalom skiers have little use for a tower and the majority of wakeboarders have no use for a slalom ski. I rode the slalom once this year...just to prove I still could..haha

RE: Why no slalom skis on tower?

I have seen ski racks for towers, just not sure who makes them. Hopefully someone will chime in with a name.

Good question. i was considering getting or making something for my boat because i also barefoot , is a great place to hook the rope on when a not so seriouse skier gets behind the boat with a group of friends able to sit in the back, and would be a better out of the way place to mount a boom to. it could always be folded against the tower. if i had one you would see my slalom ski along with my buddies up there to. come to think it i know a guy with a big pipe bender. i smell a winter project.

I know Monster Tower (www.monstertower.com) makes a Ski rack that would hold a couple of slalom skis or combos. I have not used it personally, but looks to me like it might do the job.

          Pic attached.

I have a Monster ski rack and it works great. Pretty much like a board rack but the fingers are a little shorter and the rack is longer overall.

I have the flight clips for four boards, one monster rack for two more boards on one side and one monster rack for two slalom skis on the other side, the wakesurf gets strapped to the top of the tower with bungee's. If there are any additional skis they go under the passenger's loveseat. Sorry I don't have any pix...

My Flight Clips are spread out as wide as possible, they will hold boards or ski's no problem.

I would not leave my ski on a rack, baking in the sun. It will definately affect the way it skis.

When we ordered our 06 206 our CC dealer switched out one of the Flight Control Clips (no charge) with a Titan ski rack that holds 2 skis. It is billet aluminum and works great. Check with your dealer or you might check with Phil at Buxtom Marine in Tx (our dealer) for more information.

                      Hope this helps.

How heavy is your slalom ski?

                              Richard,

You skipped my post, I use the Monster ski rack in addition to my flight clips and other Monster accessories. You might need to rough up the tower finish to keep it from turning with heavier boards/skis. The board rack and ski rack can mount on the same clamp but mine were machined on a different angle, maybe Monster has corrected the issue for the new racks.
