I have not wake boarded off this boat. I love slaloming and barefooting.
I know barefooters who have strictly barefoot boats who use a tower. They like the tower better than an extended pylon.
I like fact that I can put the skis on it to free up the floor. 4 slalom skis gets crowded.
    Good luck with you decision.

      cat1168,

The FCT on your 196 looks great. I have been debating whether to put a tower on my 05 196 all season. Where did you buy the tower from and are there different sizes depending on boat model; 196, 206, 216? Can you provide any guidance on cost?

        Cat,

That's a great looking boat, I am with you, love to slalom and always foot from the tower, you will like wakeboarding from the tower also.

Where in Connecticut are you? We have a family place on Candlewood, Holiday Point in Sherman.

I was lucky enough to get a pull from cat early this season. I have to say that when I heard about a FCT on a 196 I had mixed thoughts, but in person, it looks VERY nice!

Kurpski, The tower is a CC flight control. I ordered the boat with it , the tower was 2000. I do not know if there are different sizes? The dealer installed it. The bimini was 800. The ski racks are from monster and are 200 each.

Quinner, I ski on Lake Lillinonah. I know where you are on Candlewood. Nice area. Lilly is 10 minutes from candlewood.

Austin, I just skied for the first time in 11 weeks, if you want let me know I can take you for a pull.

Chad, nice to you know you're back up and running... My whole family will be at Lillinonah Saturday. In fact, almost everyone I know that has to do with the lake in one way or another will be at the lake Saturday. Our friends with the house and his MC, our family and our boat, and then I'm going to go pick up a friends boat from CEAST and we're going to bring it to Lilli b/c he doesn't have a trailer. So you'll be the 4th boat if you come!

Austin, it is supposed to be raining Saturday due to the hurricane. That would really suck for you and your family!!!
Saturday: Cloudy, windy, and cool with periods of rain. Low: 57. High: 64.

Definate thumbs up for a tower on a 196. I think my boat is one of the best cross-over boats out there... No wake/spray past 38off, and a solid wakeboard wake with a bit of ballast.
Plus, it gets the boards out of the boat and lets you use the back seats while wakeboarding.
