1989 Ski Nautique Wakeboarding Fat Sack Setup

    Hi Guys!

I'm new to the forums so if this is in the wrong place please tell me and I'll move it.

I have a 1989 Ski Nautique with a tower that I'm looking to put some fat sacks in with the hopes of having a bigger wake. Any advice is appreciated!

I had an 83 Ski Nautique a while back. I always ran with sacs on either side of the engine compartment. I went with 800lb bags and that was way too big for the space but I just didn’t fill them all the way. You can’t really plumb a ballast system in or anything. There’s just not room. You can get a fun wakeboard wake out of it that way. It really could’ve used a better prop running that weight than the old Federal it came with.

As a matter of fact!... I stopped by Miami Nautique yesterday and saw they have some old stock of Fly High Fat Sac "L" shaped bags that would be perfect for that boat! They are 1,100lbs each and you could fit one on each side of the motor box. Call and ask for Daniel (305) 438-9464. Tell them Marcos from Gator Bait sent you.

I used to run 550’s each side of the motor box and a 550 in the rear. Don’t forget to stick some weight up front, I used to run 3- 70lbs sandbags. The wake on a weighted 2001 model is awesome, have fun!
