FWIW the much larger auto industry is required by law to be able to provide replacement parts for only ten years. I don't see how a much smaller company in a much smaller niche industry should be held accountable for longer especially when there are work-arounds that can keep you running as explained on previous posts. Nautique and Faria have no incentive to work with each other since Murphy holds exclusivity on Perfect Pass patents that now control the most critical features of the dash on new boats.

I hooked my hour meter to the positive side of the ignition coil. My hour meter failed before it was 10 years old. You are right it is a very small problem on a boat with far less electronics then new boats . I fear that the same thing will happen with the first generation links system or NSS . The new boats are truly floating space ships when they fail it will be thousands to fix them or NO fix at all when the builders don't support that system anymore? I am going the opposite way I am building a 67 Correct Craft Mustang 16' with a 351w engine . No ballast, NSS, tower radio to worry about . The only electronics it will have is the HEI ignition.
