Buying 2015 G23, how is surf wave?

I am thinking about buying a supercharged 2015 G23, I know they changed the hull in 2016+ to address the spray issue as well as the rear corners to help the surf wave. Is the change to the surf wave noticeable? Is there anything that can be done to help the wave of the 2015? Any suggestions for setting this up? Thanks for the help

    So you are going from a 2017 G25 to a 2015 G23? Don’t do that ; very bad decision

No, I am looking at buying my first G, and am struggling between buying a fully loaded 2015 and a pretty basic 2016. And wanted to see how much difference the surf wave really is

Go with the 2016 . The only reason I said that is because your current boat states you own a G 23 2017 based on your profile so why go backwards? Makes no sense

FWIW, the 2015 G surfs great! The spray when heading into the wind is significant but is manageable. We have yet to find a downside to the surf wave! It’s very good with stock ballast, better with appropriate placement of lead to level the boat at speed. Playing around with 1-2k of added ballast provides a pretty epic wave for anyone’s style that we ride with. One of our friends, who is a pro wake boarder, says the lip on the wake from the original 13-15 hull is noticeably better. I’m not that good, and haven’t boarded the new hull so take it as hearsay. The new helm, drivers seat and stern walkthrough are great improvements in the newer boats.

I don't know what the price difference is - nor do I know what the difference in options is. There isn't that many options in those years. Without knowing those things I would offer this advice - you can always upgrade a stereo... but you can't upgrade to a better hull and better out of the box wave with the 2016. I had a 2014 and you could make a very, very good wave with extra weight ( we used 750# bags in the back and used lead and a smaller bag up front. The wave was huge but not sure how you feel about losing storage because of the extra space for bags..... or the extra hassle. The bow spray can be significant but not a huge deal. My .02. Can't go wrong either way in my opinion.

Are they both G23's or is one a G25?

Sorry for the confusion on this, I had some incorrect info in my profile.

I am looking at the option of buying a used G23

2015 with nearly every option and supercharged vs a 2016 with that is relatively basic. Both under $100k

Ok now this is all making sense. Go with the 2016 for the reasons sixcampbells states as well as other members. You will regret getting the 2015 if a used 2016 is available IMHO.
