2006 210 - Too Good To Pass Up?

I could use some help in a decision I'm about to make...

I found a 2006 210 with 20 hours on it. It's a great boat, the price is in the upper $40k range.

I'm getting back in to watersports after about an 8 year absence. Since I left, I now have two girls (ages 3 and 6). I'm worried about how the boat will handle when we're not wakeboarding, tubing, whatever. In other words, cruising around the lake, especially if the water gets a little choppy. Will they be uncomfortable, even if they're sitting in th back?

The CC dealer told me to get a 211 or a 220. I believe he's right.

However, for this 210, I think the price is more in my range. I can't afford $67k+ on a new boat. And I think this 210 at roughly $48k is a great deal, maybe too good to pass up. I'm also worried about what the new 210 will do the values of this 2006 210.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

    RE: Decision Help

They will be most comfortable sitting in the back seat, least comfortable up front. Just less bounce at that point. The 210 will handle rough water well for a tournament inboard/vdrive, though admittedly, IMO, not as well as the 211 or 220. I think high 40s is a good price. You could buy that boat and probably flip it for a profit if you don't like it. BKH

Do you think the 2007 210 will have a big impact on the value of this boat when it comes out or not?

buy it, if you dont like it you can sell it for at least what you paid easily and then get what you want.

If they redesign the 2007 and change the hull, your 2006 will increase in value, just my opinion. If they don't change the hull, it will depreciate normally, which is not all that bad if you maintain it well, you are also getting a good deal.

Since I bought my 02 in 04-05, it has lost less than 3% of it's value. When they killed off the colored deck option, they made colored deck boats sought after items.

If you like the boat and it's a good deal, go for it. You will love the boat, it's an amazing wakeboarding boat and really handles nicely. It can take a fair amount of chop, it's the rollers that make it tough, but rollers get everyone.

Are you looking for a ski wake or a board wake?

If the ski wake is not your primary concern, the 210 will handle the chop about as well as any other boat in it's class. The 226 and 211 handle it a little better, but not that much better. I don't know what a 220 would do, but you would pay a bunch more for one of them

Price wise, that is a great price. I would say my '02 has lost about 5% value each year, so 40K for an 06 is a steal.

I'm not all that concerned about wake. I'd like to wakeboard, waterski, tube and surf but don't need to do any at competition levels. I think the 210 is going for such a great price either because he doesn't want to take the payment with him in to the winter and/or he says he has a new boat coming and needs to get rid of this.

What kind of 210 is it? A signiture/limit or a team edition? Either way the price is good, but if the boat is a limit or team the boat is a steal for 48k.
