Except that several parts of it aren’t accurate......

1- All seats in a X22 are hinged and assisted with gas springs.
2- While the H6 has a higher advertised HP, actual tested HP is lower than the Ilmor 6.2.
3- Both of the GDI engine options (385hp 5.3 and 430hp 6.2) for the X22 are closed cooled.

        Swatguy’s assessment was more accurate.

I am a customer that jumps back and forth. Have had several G’s, and currently have an XStar. I drive and ride an X22 for the many surf and wake seminars we do every year. Personally, I like the XStar a lot better than the X22. I like the extra storage, and all subfloor ballast in the Star. Plus a few other little things, like styling.

As far as surf waves are concerned compared to a G21, I think 9 out of 10 people will greatly prefer the X22 wave. Almost none of my crew was thrilled with the waves on my G21 or G23s. Plenty of power, but steep and short. A great wave, but not as long, not as smooth, and not as much power in the rear portion of the wave. Everyone in the crew, including the 2 G owners, prefer the waves on the X22 and the XStar.

wake- I prefer the X22, but I’m old, and I like an easier transition, and longer landing zone. Most serious boarders will probably like the X22 wake well enough, but will prefer the G. G series is wake king across the board.

Bow rise- G’s excel over any other brand in this regard...... but if you think MC’s ride bow high, you should check out a Bu, or Supra. I do wish MC would add a little more front ballast in the X22 though. We throw 100lbs of lead in the anchor compartment.

OP- Congrats on the G23. It’s a fantastic machine, and I think you’ll be much happier you went with the G23 rather than the G21.

I too have ridden the surf wave behind the x22. It was large and long. Power all the back to the very back of the wave to recover. I have not surfed the G23 in a while.

Thank you everyone for the input. The boat is being built (well at least starting this week) so I don’t have pictures yet. We will have it sometime in the first half of June. It was communicated to me that Nautique will be prioritizing pre-purchased boats over general production boats (for obvious reasons right now). However, even if it’s later I couldn’t turn down the deal/opportunity. I did really like the X22 however and do truly believe it’s a gem in the Mastercraft lineup. However, bow rise for my wife and general storage were a prevailing issue/concern we couldn’t look past.
