Is the SAN 230 off the table? It has a nice long surf wave with great push, and you can pick one up for less than the G21. If you went that route, you can save more cash, get the extra couple feet of length, and maintain the fit and finish of the Nautiques.

Get G21. One benefit I don’t think was mentioned: It will be easier to tame the wake/wave for yiur kids. You absolutely will not be disappointed, and the you can upgrade to g23 if you want more space in a few years. (Compared to 21ft boats pre G series......the g21 has MASSIVE space and storage.)

I think I am going to go with the G23, otherwise I will always be wondering, and I do NOT want to be crowded on the boat...we pack heavy in most things we do (momma likes to make sure we have it and dont need it, rather than the other way around) and it sounds like the 2021 G23's will be significantly more expensive (and better for that matter). Inventory seems extremely limited on inboards and boat trader also...it seems most dealers are selling them fairly quickly....
So, THANK YOU everyone that chimed in with your thoughts and experiences. I keep coming up with the G21 wave in not the best (steep and steeper is how I have seen it described several times) and it is likely harder to learn on for the kids (and heck for myself and the wife for that matter). If it was only $10-$20k more, it wouldnt have even been a consideration...but $56k more is a big chunk....and I really wanted to like the Centurion Ri237, but the interior quality is SERIOUSLY behind Nautique.....so the G23 it is! Thanks again and hopefully I am posting soon with some pics and with some setup questions and the like

Well, dealer just told me the 2019 G21 sold this morning, so that pretty much takes care of that
So...next is the dreaded question on cost and is it "ok"? I realize everyone is different, different parts of country, etc, etc...I got the spec sheet of the boat and listed MSRP without trailer is $212,871..seems to have about every option except heater and heated seats...has the upgarded Studio Elite stereo and 2 sets of the 880's on the tower...pretty well optioned out...asking price is about 21% below that...with all things considered (lack of inventory anywhere I look, etc), this seems "fair" to me....thoughts?Last edited by Gtsum2; 05-31-2020, 04:12 PM.

The g23 takes more weight then the g21 to clean up at low speeds, cause it is a bigger hull. Both g21 and g23 are bad low speed wakes, just nature of shape of the hull. The only advantage of g23 is surf wave. That's it. Unless you need to take 2 more people.
The difference in surf wave is good vs great.
Yes 21% off is fair.

You will be very happy with the G23. Both G series are great boats. You will not have a problem getting a good wake for beginners wakeboarding. I have taught 2 of my three girls to wakeboard behind a G23. You can get both wakes clean at 17mph and for learning you can clean one wake down to about 14.

I've had my G21 for 5 years....and I've never once wished I had a G23 for the better surf wave...better wakeboard wake etc...for the skill level myself and family and friends are. The ONLY reason I would bump to a G23 is for the added interior space in the back when my kids have a crew. The G21 does SO much so well.....it's hard to beat the price vs. going G23. And seriously...I pull the tube alot for the littles....and there is NO better tube puller out there.....LOL
