    97-98-99 SKi

I looking to upgrade from a 88 Ski to a late 90 Ski. My question is what are the differance in these boats. I know the the 97 had a larger dog house than the 98 and 99's. Is one year better than other? Do the earlier years have issues that were corrected the following year?

99' has an adjustable tab for the rudder. Still has no trunk. 99' also has the white dash with black pod. 97' is black dash with black pod. Not sure about the 98 dash colors.

Idle Flair on the gt-40's is fixed in 99' not sure about 98' .

I sure do like skiing behind my TSC1 hull, especially compared to some of the other boats that I get to ski behind. Its also a dream to drive, even pulling big guys.

    Good luck in your search.

Which year did they introduce the bottom swing tach? 98? I know they offered a few new colors in 98 or 99, like the Masters editions in navy blue and black. My uncle had a '97 and a friend has a '99. Great boats.

Bottom swing tach, 1998 intro. the bottom swing tach also had the hour meter in the tach. In 1999, the 502 python was an engine option. The back seat can be removed in both the 1998, and 1997 skis, but I am not sure about the 1999. In 2000, the digital gauges were introduced, and the gas tank was extended into the floor area, so there was a small storage area behind the rear seat rest, above the gas tank. The 1997 also had gas struts on both parts on the engine cover. In 1998, you could also get the wood trin dash option.

The 2000 storage area was an option, and some boats don't have it. Mine has the standard seat back there with no storage.

I have a 99 SNOB and I love it. Best compromise btw total ski and family boat. Just spent a week on Lake Norris and had almost enough room.

              The back seat is removable.

Back seat is removable in 99' and you can also flip the center cusion over and have a carpet pad to access the platform on instead of standing on the seat cusion. That is one feature I really like and wonder why more boats dont have similiar features. My 92 MC 190 had a similiar feature. I hate it when people stand on the seats.

on my 01 the middle cushion in the back can be taken off, I'd rather it flip and I'd rather the gas tank not be right under the seat so I can remove the back seat.

Thanks for the input.... So it sounds like the 98 and 99's are alittle more solid than the 97. This makes sense, first year out for the new haul you always have little things to tweak to make the ultimate ski machine. I will hate to see the 88 go, this old girl is in her prime. I've owned the boat for 11 years and has done nothing but run down the lake and sold me on the fact I will never own anything but a CC.
