    G25 versus a Mastercraft X26

Thinking of moving into a used larger Boat and have been looking at the G25's
But wondered if anyone has experience on the Dark Side with the X26
We want the Boat for Surfing and to be able to handle the bigger chop

If we go to a G25 - what model years should be avoided? 2016+?
as I have heard there have been changes

    Currently have a 2010 230 TEAM and a 200

Based on your criteria, the X26 is going to be far and away the better choice, as long as it is a 2020. The 2016-2019 X26 had excellent rough water ride, but the boat needed a lot more than stock ballast for a great surf wake. The 2020 X26, has huge stock ballast and a phenomenal surf wave. It’s a deeper V hull, and is likely the best riding wakeboat available right now on rough water. The Ri257 probably runs a close second on rough water ride.

There are certainly areas that the G25 excels over the X26, but surf wave and ride are not areas that it does. If you said you wanted the best stereo, the most storage, and the best wakeboard wake, I’d have recommended the G25.

Wayard - Are you saying the hull on the 2020 X26 a deeper V than the 2016-2019? If so .... is there much difference in the rough water ride?

No, it’s about the same as the previous X26. It is a deeper V than the G25 with both generations. Not to say the G rides bad on rough water. It’s fairly decent, but is significantly rougher and wetter ride than a X26. Still, just being a 25 footer makes for a fairly good rough water ride in the G.

The major difference between the generations of X26, is the ballast, and the surf wave. The earlier X26 has an ok wave, however, it is nothing like the new X26. The 2015-2019 X26 had 2600lbs of ballast. The 2020 has 4200, and some hull changes to really kick up an incredible wave.

Doesn’t the new X26 have a toilet on it so you can technically have alcoholic drinks on board?

The old boat had a head as well. It just moved from the port side to the center.
