Ok, have the new G23...now what?:)

Thanks to all that chimed in on my thread between the g23 and g21...picked up the g23 and had it out yesterday for first time. So glad we went with the g23 be the smaller 21. Think we will like it a lot, but a little confused with all the options. Can anyone give me some info on the following?

    1). Kids beginning surf - should I go with 20-30% ballast and nss 0 and ncrs 4? Kids are 12 (130lbs) and 9 (90lbs)

1b). What about beginning surf for me? I’m 250lbs...I’d assume I want max push? What settings are those?

    2). I see nss settings are 0 a lot...why? IÂ’m not sure I understand how it works?

3). Wakeboarding beginning is easy as there is a preset to that so IÂ’m good there

4). Plane assist? High, low, ncrs 5? Think itÂ’s on high and it seems to plane quickly.

5). IsnÂ’t there a way I can keep the gps map on screen and my info on the other side? IÂ’m leaning the lake (350 miles of shoreline) so IÂ’m constantly using the gps and scrolling through the settings to get it

    This should be fun!

    1. For the kids..you still want push....maybe 75% ballast in the back...half belly. 1b. For you...run full in the back....maybe half belly. About 11.0 mph for the kids....11.4 mph for you.
    2. Just the way the tabs go with the numbers...... I believe 0 means "all the way out".....5 means all the way in....for the NSS...which is the surf tabs.
    3. Yeah...just set the Speed control to 19.5....20 mph.... and run no ballast to start. You'll be fine. Shorten the rope a little if you have a super long rope.
    4. Run the NCRS in the "Auto" mode...really works keeping the bow down under all driving situations.
    5. Not sure about the map question.

Nice ride. Have a fun summer.

Also, what about keeping it clean and detailed? Procedures and or products used when pulled out of the water? I have the sea dek cleaner in the cart (from another thread). Do you all ever use 303? I use that on my fifth wheel at times and it seems to work well

          5. You can add the map to the switchboard. Doing so will allow you to have the map on the right, and all (normal) functions on the left.

I really like this book on marine detailing (I have it and re-read it from time to time):

              https://www.marine31.com/marine-31-boat-book.html

Some of it is product advertising and marketing, but I really like the information in it.

50/50 Vinegar and water mix in spray bottles. We wipe our boat down with this every time we pull the boat out (we trailer). Will keep the boat looking like new.

Vinegar is a wax remover/stripper. If you keep your boat waxed I'd look for a different product.

I boat on a hard water limestone lake. Water spots bake in the sun. I do wipe the boat down EVERY time I pull it out. But....a few times a year I mix 50/50 Sanivac and water in the spray bottle and wipe the boat down to remove the built up spots. Then I hit it right after that with a Meguiar's quick wax. Leaves it showroom shiny and smooth.

Hot Sauce spot remover works great. Its only around 45 bucks for a gallon. I have towels that I use only for wiping down too. I don't like using the dirty towels that people have been using all day.
