I dont have a check list, but I'm sure you will get lots of tips here shortly. A couple things I would do is ask for the dealer to show you his PDI sheets(pre delivery inspection) they should have these filled out with all the check marks. I would also have the dealer take you on a shake down cruise and show you how everthing works, check all connections etc. I know some guys just tow it home from the dealer but after paying(or should I say, before paying) that kind of money I think the dealer should hand it over in good working order after checking it out on a demo ride. This boat was the first new boat since we were on the promo team. Back then we just took the cards we were dealt, so I hadn't given it much thought before showing up at Hammer's to pick up the boat. I just backed the truck up and said where do I sign. Hammer took out a clipboard and started going through his delivery checklist with me. We ended up spending about an hour going over every little detail finding little minor issues here and there. Being impatient I fixed half of the little things myself, the rest waited until the end of the season when I took it back and gave it to them for two weeks. They fixed everything on the original list and a few other things that had surfaced since delivery. If you have a good dealer like Hammer then it is not that big of an issue.Comment
