Looks like the G21 has been scrapped. Figured that would eventually happen as the demand for them wasn't close to the G23.

Awesome awesome looking boat. New upgrade goal. Have to think there will definitely be some buyers with remorse who rushed to buy a paragon and could have saved some big $$.

Smart move on Nautiques part to release the Paragon first.

Also, I was thinking about how much I absolutely hated the paragon rear seats, how the open from the rear and the lost storage space. Boom problem solved here.

Just watched the vids. Some nice tweaks. I wonder if the rear nss plates are larger on the new g23 as they’ve huge on the paragon compared to it 2020 g23. Also looks like about 15k price increase or thereabouts?

Go back and find my post that said the paragon hull would drop into the regular G series. I mistakenly said it would take a few years.

Amazed Nautique is able to reduce the ballast by 650lbs on the boat when most have increased their numbers by 1000s. Thinking this has to do with the proliferation of people keeping lead in their boat as well as ability to increase overall dry weight.
              also long live G21!

Yeah...but think about this....I am willing to bet some of alot of the Paragon buyers bought a Paragon JUST for the retractable tower alone. Seriously.....MOST of the buyers don't need a Paragon wake vs. a G23 wake...but that tower.....gotta love that tower. Up and down....all day long.

I made the following comment on the Paragon release thread back in October.

"I think Nautique is potentially boxing themselves in. Maybe I am wrong but I think they have priced out a lot of their current G owners. Not all but a lot. So they are going to have a choice to make. Keep the Paragon features at the Paragon level and risk a lot of their G owners transitioning to other "fresher" models as Wayward mentioned OR they migrate the Paragon features down to the G at a better price point and piss off the early adopters because it dilutes the exclusivity of the Paragon. Tough needle to thread...."

It will be interesting to watch for sure. Paragon owners who would have optioned up a G with the biggest engine and every conceivable option shouldn't be disappointed. Those who went with the Paragon primarily for hull characteristics likely are disappointed

I think the weight reduction has more to do with the electric engine hatch, rear seats, Paragon tower, dual screen dash, and triple batteries that are not in the new G23.

It appears all lower hull is from Paragon, including NSS plates, surf-pipe, etc..

Wow! We went to look at the 2020's and our salesman said to wait a bit as he said the old G platform has been around for quite sometime, this must have been what he was talking about

Curious how this impacts the value of the old style G23 and the 2020 Paragon. We are in the market for a G23 in the next 3 months.

I’m more referring to the drop on a g23 from 2850 a 2000 but still providing a world class wave. Guessing the priority is that more ‘boat’ (all the things you’ve mentioned) less ballast is the plan as people use lead bags more.

Clearly there is a price premium on the Paragon, but as I mentioned back during your original post, if you spec'd out a G23 with all the features you could, to match the base G23 Paragon, the priced delta drops a bit. And there are several things you just can't get, like the seats at the rear, and the telescoping tower, even on this new G23. And then consider that MSRP on boats and actual sales price are considerably different allowing dealers to negotiate final pricing, and I don't think you are going to find that anyone is boxed in. This looks like a very natural stair stepping of the pricing and features. And getting the new hull, which is deeper, bridges the gap a little more. It seems like the price jump is in step with previous years bumps. The problem that Mr. Bevostein has, I assume, as well as many others, is the raw number of dollars involved here, and how the cost of these boats just go up every year, and people just keep buying them.

In general people use lead to replace people on the boat. If you have a full boat, you don't need the lead. Everyone has different reasons for how they manage their boat, but when I have a boat full of people on my G25, the lead is not required. When it is just 2 of us, one driving and one surfing, the lead helps. Whatever Nautique has done with the hull shape has allowed them to achieve superior wake shape with less ballast. But they also have to consider the range of people that might be on the boat, based on it's rating. The wave can't go to crap because you have a full boat, and the features of the hull are not engaging properly. I am assuming that they test the hull performance at surf and wake speeds, load range, and put ballast in according to the results. If this is the case, why would we need lead? Because even though the boat holds 16 people, ideal wave is somewhere between 2 and 16, and our typical crew might be a 4-6 people short of that idea, leaving 600-900 lbs of gap, hence we put in lead.
