Would love to see how the new boats rate between as compared to the 2020 G23 and 2020 G23 Paragon. it seems like no changes in the Paragons for 2021, but the G23 should be very close to the Paragon, anyway, my speculation, hoping you will be able to confirm or adjust for the forum.

Exactly right. Weight is weight. When weight gets added into the hull and equipment, engine and drive train maximum limits have to be respected so less ballast is added. The Paragon gets its awesome wave from the newer and larger NSS plates and hull design which are now in the G23. And that is what I care about most. Mine will be here in two weeks and I can't wait!

Check with forum member st68 . He has the 2019 PlanetNautique G23 for sale right now. It is a very well optioned boat.

My guess is that after the initial flock to the 2021 boat the price increase in the new G23 will work to keep the prices of 2020 and older G23s inflated. Not everyone will be able to or want to purchase a new G at the increased prices.

I have not been in this boat yet, but I have been in several Paragons. If this performs anything like those (and I suspect it will), it will be awesome!

Base MSRP has gone from 166 to 180 for the G23 (non-Paragon). They are very expensive boats, but honestly I expected to see a bigger price jump.

Yes, not only is this mentioned early in the videos, there is a comparison video specifically addressing this, and this was mentioned 2 or 3 times in the thread. The bottom side of the hull is the same as the paragon, NSS, Surf pipe, and it looks like a number of other smaller features slide in from the paragon. computer is a light version of the paragon, so upgraded from the 2020 (possibly just software). what I haven't seen is if the battery management system is the same as the paragon. Paragon has 3 batteries and it automatically manages charge for you instead of a switch, didn't see if that was the same or not.

Clearly there is a price premium on the Paragon, but as I mentioned back during your original post, if you spec'd out a G23 with all the features you could, to match the base G23 Paragon, the priced delta drops a bit. And there are several things you just can't get, like the seats at the rear, and the telescoping tower, even on this new G23. And then consider that MSRP on boats and actual sales price are considerably different allowing dealers to negotiate final pricing, and I don't think you are going to find that anyone is boxed in. This looks like a very natural stair stepping of the pricing and features. And getting the new hull, which is deeper, bridges the gap a little more. It seems like the price jump is in step with previous years bumps. The problem that Mr. Bevostein has, I assume, as well as many others, is the raw number of dollars involved here, and how the cost of these boats just go up every year, and people just keep buying them.

I don't have problem with this at all. In fact, I love this development. I am just commenting because I think its going to be interesting to watch the reactions.

Current G owners now have the option to upgrade to a refreshed hull and NSS system. Win!

I completely agree that anyone who would have otherwise optioned a G23 to the max would be paying close to same and for that extra in cost they get the telescoping tower, lounge seats,etc. They should be indifferent to this.

I think the only people potentially upset are those that bought a Paragon for primarily the hull and not all the other extras. They may have some hard feelings about the hull they paid a premium for is now available on the G. What I mean by boxed in is Nautique or their dealers might have some explaining to do to those customers.

If you purchased a Paragon I don't think you should be upset with this new G23. You purchased your Paragon because you wanted the best available at the time and that is what you got. There are still many features in the Paragon that are not available in the G23 retaining a reasonable level of differentiation. Why buyer of a Paragon believe that Nautique is not going to innovate and add features of the Paragon to the G23?

From the interior pics of G23 it looks like the access panel for the battery switch in the walk through has been eliminated. Not sure if that means the switch is gone but the access panel is

I have been selling a G23 each year for the past few years... always limited inventory in the used market b/c of smaller production runs than other makers, this alone helps keep resale up. With the 2016 hull change there was no negative impact on resale and now with Covid inventory is extremely scarce so it has caused resale values to increase for all boats. It will take a while for this to catch up and settle down and like already said there are plenty of people who don't want to pay new prices just like there are always people who buy used cars and not new cars. If anything it will push resale prices up or at minimum keep them stable b/c of the higher MSRP.
