    Guidance/Help Buying 2019 G23

    Hi Everyone:

I found a new leftover 2019 G23 that Im considering snagging. A bit concerned that with the 2021's coming out and all the new design and tech, that a 2019 is going to be significantly dated before ever leaving the dealers lot.

What kind of discount should I expect from the dealer? Boat has some hours on it from being a demo, otherwise would be titled new. I've heard that dealers have about 45% margin in the boat; so with 2021's starting to show up in inventory, what should percentage discount should I be targeting on a boat like this?

Any thoughts or help is much appreciated.

    Thanks team!

I wouldn’t say the 2019’s are going to be super outdated. You can expect to pay anywhere from 140k-160k depending on options for a leftover ‘19 with a trailer.

I'd see what they're asking on onlyinboards for used ones with similar hours and options and start there. End of the day once it's titled it's a used boat.

In normal times, most dealer floor plans would have the dealer paying both interest and principal on that boat, and they would be very motivated to move it. But it is a crazy time right now. There is very little inventory nationally (across all lines of boats) and record demand. I'd do the best you can negotiating, but at this particular time in history, I would say the seller is in a better position with a 2-year old boat than he normally would be. At least in my region, if you want a boat right now, you are paying an unusually high premium to get one, new or used.
