The 550 motor boats are definitely quieter but most run the 450 Ho motor that is in no way whisper quiet when weighted with pnp and extra lead like the majority are.
the more i think about it, the more i wonder wonder how the giant walk thru impacts noise? Does the increased exposed fiberglass result in less sound deadening than a fully padded or sea dek'd design? What are the engine dividers made of? Do they isolate noise from the rear compartments or do they turn into echo chambers? Are the rear compartments isolated from the port and stern side under seat storage (they are not on my 230)? Probably lots of factors at play here.
I have toyed around with the idea of applying sound deadening to the inside of my engine hatch to see how much it impacts noise transmitted to the cabin.
