2004 ski nautique signature edition - goods, bads ugly???

I am looking at a clean 2004 SN 196 Signature edition with 500+ hours and it seems to be in good condition. Boat is in S Tahoe area so I won't be able to demo unless I drive down to get it. It has the PCM 330 Excalibur, which I know nothing about. Any insight would be much appreciated.

Great motor, low hours and Signature edition just means it has factory analog gauges and key start. Which after all the Gateway failures, this is almost a plus.

I am very interested in this boat but see a couple issues. Vinyl has some blemish on the observers back and port gull wing has some cuts. Trailer fender needs new carpet back but bunks look good. Hull looks to be in great shape and motor is clean. This is about 8 hours from me and I want to make **** sure I have my ducks in a row. It seems a little high in price but I know the market is crazy right now.

Am I missing something? TIA

If I was buying, I would grab this Limited over that Signature. Same price, but it is a Limited with keyless and digital gauges, plus it has a heater and the upholstery is in much better shape. Roughly the same price.

I agree with Jeff, you should consider the Team Edition as your first option.

That is a beautiful boat Jeff. The distance scares me as I haven't ever bought long distance or dealt with shipping. It does help me get a better idea on price and that SE is definitely higher than I like

Figuring out pricing right now for these boats is so hard. Everyone thinks their boats are worth so much right now, and since people seem to be paying these crazy prices, they may be right! I just sold the 211 I restored for probably about $10,000 less than I should have, because I made the deal before everything went crazy with boat prices.

Here's what I would say about that boat. It is nice, but it will need an entire new interior in the not-so-distant future. You should budget at least $6,000 - $8,000 for a properly-done interior with LEGAL proper logos, including installation. The only place you can legally source the interior skins with the correct logos is C&S Marine in New Jersey. They are the only shop with rights to reproduce the correct logos. Then you have to have those shipped to you and installed, and sometimes they require slight modification if the seat foam has contracted at all. Properly-done interiors on these boats are not cheap. That's why I always recommend looking for boats that don't need interior work.

I strongly recommend not going cheap on the interior and skipping the logos. That cheapens the boat and will reduce resale later.

The more I look at it, the more I think it was the boat I almost bought last summer.
It was in my marina and was for sale for $17K.
If it is the same boat, the interior was rough, but I don't recall any major rips.
Also, I know who the previous owner was, so it was surprising the interior was the way it was.

The more I look at the Tahoe boat the less interested I am. It would need to be around 15k and no way he’s taking that in this market. We shall see. Winter is looking better for buying.
