My wife and daughter love this setting as it’s longer than our old Malibu but mellow shape like they are used to. Everybody else like the wave cranked up big

I’ve been using these settings or most of this summer on my 2020 G21 and the wave is fantastic. Long, still pretty darn big, but less steep than with full ballast. Thanks for sharing this, Startemyoung! Highly recommend to any G21 owner with the same hull design. I was surfing with an XT22 owner and he was amazed at the amount of push and how long the wave was … agreed that it was way better than his setup.

Great advice on lengthening the wave the on the G21. Yeah...full stock does make it short and steep in the pocket. I just started playing with the settings on my G21 before I traded for my 2021 G23. But....ANY year G21 is and all around great boat. I hated to let mine go.....but wanted a little more room and 6 years of new tech. Happy with my 23 but BIG love to all the G21s......

Anyone know if a similar setup produces similar results on a gen1 or gen2 G23? We have narrowed our search down to an XT23 or G23. I'm bigger - 6'5" 250lbs- so the steepness of a loaded G is appealing, but want something longer and more mellow for my wife and daughters. We are currently running a 2016 X10 and it can do both, though takes alot of extra weight to really produce a wave for me.

What do you mean by gen 1 and gen 2? There are 3 iterations of the G23: 2013-2015, 2016-2020, 2021-current. 1 and 2 have identical waves near as I can tell but require different weight profiles to get there. You can adjust some but it’s always a G23 wave at the end of the day. That last one I don’t have direct experience with but I hear you can do a lot more with it.

Yep, first and second iterations is what I was referring to. I found some older posts from greggmck that appear to address lengthening and mellowing the wave with bow weight and reduced rear weight.
