Can anybody reliably tell me the actual dry weight of a new G23? Website says 6,000; sales guy told me that is 'approximate' and it is more like 6,400.

Sounds like maybe the sales guy was quoting wet weight? IIR, the factory quotes dry weight.....fuel and gear would easily get you to +400 lbs.2004 206 Air Nautique Limited - Black with Vapor Blue (family style)
1997 Masters Edition Nautique - Zephyr Green - gone (amazing ski wake)
1982 Mastercraft Powerslot - gone (a primitive but wonderful beast)

7,900 lbs: Ram 3500 Truck w/full fuel (no trailer)
8,600 lbs: Truck w/boat tongue weight (truck w/trailer, but only truck axles on the scale)
700 lbs: Tongue weight (math 8,600-7,900=700)
16,640 lbs: Total truck and Boat w/trailer weight
8,740 lbs: Boat and Trailer weight. (math 16,640-7,900=8,740)
1,882 lbs: Boatmate trailer alone (advertised weight)
6,858 lbs: G23 with full fuel and "normal" equipment load (math 8,740-1,882=6,858)
The normal equipment load consisted of a full tank of fuel, 200 lbs lead ballast, empty water ballast, 2 tower speakers, wavefront stereo, battery tender, power tower, and the normal boating supplies spread throughout the boat (1 wakeboard, 2 surf boards, 1 tube, 1 anchor, a few prop tools, 7 life jackets, required safety equipment, and 3 ski ropes)
You figure the advertised 2021 G23 dry weight is 6,000 and the 2020 G23 advertised dry weight was 5,900. So your average load is likely around 7,000 lbs.Last edited by mulde35d; 08-20-2020, 03:50 PM.

Your 2020 G23 is only 100 pounds less than my 2021 when dry, so I’d assume my tongue weight is also right around 700 pounds, depending on the trailer? All I know is my trailer is a two-axle BoatMate, pictured. Is my trailer similar to yours? Think my tongue weight is also around 700 pounds?

i also have it on a two axle Boatmate, just keep in mind that tongue weight is heavily dependent on you having a level load. When I first setup the trailer I attached it to the truck on level ground and adjusted my tow ball height to ensure the same distance between the ground and the primary Structural beam at the front and rear of the trailer. I think it was 21-22 inches above the ground, but it has been a while and I may be off. The key is to ensure the trailer sits level when attached to your truck with the trucks rear axles compressed under the trailer weight. Also, boatmate sent me my actual trailer weight based on the options I had them install (ladders, etc). Give them a call and they can easily provide you your actual trailer weight. Hope this helpsLast edited by mulde35d; 01-16-2022, 09:37 AM.
