Looking at moving into my first DD. Have found some decent 206 natiques, and a few malibu sunsetter LXI's. How much smaller is a 206 compared to a LXI. Mostly slalom ski and barefoot on open water. Want something family friendly and have some freeboard.

Full disclosure, I own a 206. However, I think the longevity and build quality of the Nautique will win everytime. The 206 lacks storage, but I deal with it. Not sure how the LXI rates for storage.

I purchased my 206 for the same reasons. Family friendly slalom boat and some barefooting here and there. I suppose some day I might bump up to a 200OB but the 206 has been fantastic. Can’t comment on how the Malibu compares but you’ll love the 206.

There's a lot of love for the Sunsetter on non-Nautique forums, so I suspect there's no bad choice here, but my 206 was a very solid boat. And it really is tough to beat Nautique quality, especially in the used market, where the boat needs to stand on its own two feet after all the warranties have dried up.
