    Phender Pro Option

Hi my family is in the middle of selecting options for our 2021 G23. I wanted to get some opinions on the Phender Pro option. We personally never tie up and have plush carpet on our dock so we would never use them. My question is how important is it for resale and should we spend around $900 for something we will never use?

Astilley...I was thinking the same thing when I order my 21. My take on it is this....I'm trying to eliminate options that I literally never used on my G21- front arm rests...air dam, etc. So when it comes time to Go/No Go on the Phender Pros....I'm gonna pass. I've been tying my Nautiques up to the dock and other boats for 20 years...and never had the Phender Pros...so i'm not going to get them. Others might say it's the greatest thing since sliced bread...But hey...that's 9 hundy in the gas tank....LOL. Also...me personally...I never let options or colors play a factor in "re-sale". I buy the boat for me and my family...not for the next guy.

I wish I had them. I am going to add them myself soon. We trailer and dock a lot and it’s windy often.

Plus one on the time saving aspect. We don't use them much--but will definitely get them on the next boat.

How may come with the package? Looks like their $90 each on Amazon and $30 for the installation tool. I mean even if you bought 3 for each side you'd still be fairly far ahead and they certainly don't look difficult to install.

I'm with Kenv on this one. I really like Phender Pros. They make deploying the fenders quick and fool proof for the crew. It wasn't a factory install option for me, so I had them installed by my dealer.

However, I'd pass on them if I never used fenders. I think people probably expect Phender Pros on a 2021 G, but I doubt that will have any impact on resale. That's an easy fix for next buyer if they need them.

So I didn't get this option and wish I had. I looked on amazon and was curious if these are the same ones that come stock. Are the stock one's 3/8" or 1/2". If they are 3/8" do you wish they were a bit more stout or is the smaller one just fine?

Also, do you like the stock placement or would you change the locations if you were installing aftermarket

I’m glad my G21 has the Phender Pro option. I tie up to a dock or another boat pretty often and it is one less thing I have to worry about when “crew” is helping out. Quick and easy.

I am glad that we passed on them. I almost got them, but the cleats are all we need, and we use the mission fenders which are a breeze to adjust depending on the needs each use. I believe you can always have your dealer add them if you decide to add them later.

I don’t know the answer to the first part of your question but the factory placements of the phender pros is spot on for my G23 2017. Double check placements now because I believe some of the placements have changed on the newer models

Thanks everyone for the comments. Since my family will never use it I'm not going to get the option. I also don't think it will effect resale because you can have a dealer install it.
