Put a deposit on a new 23 build date not till May. Have plenty of time to figure out colors but this is my first go at it similar to my G21 I have now. Demoed one the other day and was blown away.

Second time out--they added one 750 pound sack in each locker and 400 pounds of lead in the bow. Big difference. If i'm understanding correctly, the dry weight is 100lbs more--but the amount of stock ballast is significantly less. Too bad that Nautique reduced the size of the stock ballast.

However, the 2021 with two 750s in the rear and 400 pounds under the bow seating was mind blowing!

This is something I am also struggling with. I will say this, the wave on the 2021 hull design for my purposes, was considerably better than my stock 2020 G23. Much more customizable. It’s also better than my 2020 with 800lbs of lead from the mid ship forward. Considerably more usable length and my biggest gripe about the G23 was the wave length, though a lot of this comes down to preference. I’ve also heard every argument about perceived wave length and actual wave length and have surfed multiple boats at this juncture and will say the most usable length I’ve been behind recently was the X24. That being said, it was a softer wave than a G. I could surf right up to the platform on the X-24, even though I read a theory this isn’t possible. The conditions on the lake for the X-24 demo were not great and there was only 2 other people in the boat and there was no lead. That being said I’m not sure the length difference was enough to make up the shortcomings in other areas, particularly storage, sound system, walk through transom and so on. Here is a pic I screenshot from my video on the G23 demo. I had the surf setting at 5 and speed was 11.6. Later we played with it and turned the setting up to 10 and surfed at 12.3 mph and that wave was absolutely insane! Unfortunately, I didn’t get a Video/pic of it. I just wish I didn’t have to add lead to the boat anymore....that stuff is hard to drain lol! I asked my dealer about PNP as well and he said they couldn’t add it subfloor and it would have to go in the rear transom storage. I wish Nautique would have at least kept the ballast the same. Oh well. I still ordered the boat and will use my lead...first world problems I suppose. It’s still an amazing boat and in my opinion leaps and bounds improved from the previous hull design!

We had 400lbs of lead with 3 people onboard. I was playing with all the different levels quite a bit. I know G’s can get steep and generate a lot of push but I wanted to see how much we could change it from this standard baseline. I am happy to report that turning it down to 1-3 really did mellow it out quite a bit while still generating plenty of push. Skim boarding at these settings would be fun. My favorite was definitely having the setting at 8-10 and 12.3 mph:
