    G23 differences between years

    I have a 2020 GS20 and considering a trade in to a G23.

Is there somewhere I can go to see the differences in G23 per year so I can make a educated purchase?

I was looking for the same thing and couldn't find all the info in one place. Here is what I found...

    2016 - new hull
2017 - link panaray, in-dash audio received with zone control (by polk - reputation of garbage) 2:1 reduction
2018 - steering assist, JL Audio stereo, 6" taller tower, enhanced courtesy lighting
    2019 - frameless windshield
2020 - rear facing transom seats

The above was cobbled together from several different sources so I could be wrong on something and I'm sure I'm missing something, but I am pretty confident in it overall.

Also....I believe 2015 - new throttle (drive by wire was refined). Also...one year in there somewhere the tower got a slightly different shape to the tubing and coating was different-I believe 2017 first year for the tower change.Oooo..also 2019 first year for actuated power tower.....

Also 2019 and prior is the H6 engine while 2020 went to the ZZ6 engine as the standard engine

2018 was the introduction of the stern drive steering assist. We had a 2017 and they would not retrofit this option so we bought a 2019 with the steering assist. It makes a big difference getting to fallen surfers when its windy, very useful docking and trailering as well.

Edit..ddid a demo of the new 21 G23 and the paragon] a few weeks ago, the new wave isn't as good as the previous hull IMO.

2019 had the power tower and strapless board racks standard, in 2020+ they were options. H6 and ZZ6 engines are very similar, only major difference is that the ZZ6 is fully closed cooled while the H6 is partially close cooled I believe.

I'm trying to set up a demo with a 2020 Paragon 23 right now. But its an 8 1/2 drive to get there

I'm certainly looking for steering assist.

I reached out to Nautique sales guy that sold me my current boat. He said he could sell my boat for what I paid for it....

But do I want to take on a 230k purchase???

Based on what everybody has said I think 2018 and up would work for what we want.

That's strange. SEVERAL on here have said the new G23 Boat and surf wave are "amazing" compared to the old G23. I know a few did have a little extra weight via lead...so are you talking "Bone stock ballast" on the new G....vs maybe you ran extra weight in your 2019??. Just curious if the comments are true....about the 2021 G that is. I have a G21...and I run no extra ballast ever....so I can't really compare with my personal boat. I believe you are the first to say that....that I see.

I too would be interested to hear your thoughts on this? I demoed a 2021 G23 in mid September and it was night and day better from my 2020 G23 with 800 pounds of lead. I will say this however, so much about wave choice comes down to preference. I loved that I could stretch out the new wave much farther, without losing push all the way into the curl. I didn't whip out the measuring tape but the new wave was so much longer I couldn't stop smiling about it. It wasn't as steep at the mid range settings of 5 and 11.6 mph, which was also a perk from my standpoint because I found the wave to be much more customizable. A setting of 0-3 was much better for skim boarding and 8-10 gave me that traditional steeper Nautique wave, though the lip was not as pronounced. However, putting the setting 10 and going up to 12.3 mph was a blast because I got added length without sacrificing too much size, which is rare when you make that kind of speed adjustment. We had 3 people in the boat and 400 pounds of lead. For the record, I'm not trying to talk you out of your opinion at all, just explaining my experience with the new hull design. For months I had been hearing the Supra SL450 was as good as the Nautique but after riding behind that boat I can honestly stay the Supra doesn't belong carrying the G23's sack lunch. I have a friend that added about 1200 pounds to their SE550 and it makes a good wave but good lord does that thing drink the gas. But once more, this all comes down to preference.

Strapless board racks also became standard in 18 or 19 I think, then an option in 20.

Northern California, Copperopolis to be exact. Lake Tulloc.

The Northern California Nautique hasn't been able to do much for me so I ended up purchasing in Southern California earlier this year. And once again I've reached out to Northern California guy and he hasn't responded so I'm talking with my sales guy from Southern California again.

If you were anywhere near us I would have taken you out I’m ours. That’s crazy you have to go that far to get a demo. Although I don’t think our dealer has any stock left.

Which dealership in northern CA are you working with? Superior boat repair and sales have always been great to work with in my experience and that should be much closer than going down to southern CA.
