What is Nautiques 2nd best surf boat?

Obviously the G23/paragon is Nautiques best surf boat but which is #2? GS22, G21, 230?

This notion of "best surf boat" or "best surf wake" needs to go away. There isn't one. At this point, all of these boats surf really well and it turns into more of a personal preference thing. The G surfs steeper. The 230 surfs longer. One isn't any better than the other. They're just different.

The only reason I didn’t comment earlier is that I haven’t ridden the newest G23 wave. My crew splits time between my 230 and a friend’s 2nd gen G23. We’re pretty evenly split on which wave we prefer. I personally like the G23 better but see how it’s a far from obvious choice. All that aside, I don’t think the GS series has caught up yet but I’ve only ridden an older GS22 so I could be wrong. I also haven’t surfed a G21 but my chief complaint with the G23 is that it’s just a little shorter than I’d like so I can’t see a G21 being better. But to get back to the question, it’s not obvious and by promoting a blanket “best” you’ll end up with people passing on other really nice boats from a brand because they’re not happy with the surf wave on one model.

Never surfed a G25 wave but that boat was not mentioned in the OP's boat line up

I actually love these threads because I often glean valuable information from other people’s input. Surf wave comes purely down to preference but hearing other people’s perspective can be quite valuable if you’re on the fence about making a decision, even after doing a demo. I have had the privilege of surfing the new G23 and am coming from the old G23 hull design and can say Nautique knocked it out of the park with what I feel were necessary changes to keep up with other brands. I agree the old G wave was steep but lacked “surfable” length, which is frankly a key distinction. It also couldn’t be customized relative to other brands I surfed. However, the new G23 can be toned down for beginners and skim boarding or cranked up to the standard steep wave everyone has come to expect, though there is less of a lip. I have the 2021 on order but on my demo adjusting the wave setting to 10 and speeding up to 12-12.3 mph put out a wave that had tons of size, push and better yet, length like I’ve ever seen from a G without sacrificing size. The Mastercraft X24 also puts out an excellent surf wave. The stock Supra SL450 I surfed was not good but the SE550 with 1200 pounds of lead was very good. I’ve heard the new Centurion Ri245 is pretty amazing but I can’t speak from personal experience.
