Does anyone have any experience yet with this they can share. I'm very seriously interested in ordering a 2022 G23 but this is my biggest concern. I don't have much extra draft when going on my lift. Just trying to find out if at the position of the boat lift bunks the draft of the 22 is anymore than the previous generation. If I lose more than 2-3 inches it will not work for me. Moving the lift out to deeper water is not really an option. Dealer didn't have any real information on this topic.

While I can't answer the question as it relates to the previous generation hull, I will say that my dock is at normal lake level 6'6" of water and we use a hydrohoist 8800 lift that needs 38" under the draft of the boat to function so I need a total of 69.5" for it. Given the Corp has been letting water out at a pretty good clip and it was going to be below full pool level this week, we decided to put it on the trailer in the storage unit for this week so it won't be left stranded for Labor day weekend. We are going to see if it will go on the lift next weekend when we expect the water level to be closer to 1' low so that we know if it will truly work or not.

It will suck if it's only usable when the lake is above full pool, may need to look into getting it dredged a little underneath my lift.

Schedule a demo with the dealer and test it.

I did not change the bunks on my hoist when I went from a 2019 G23 to a 2021 G23

My 2021 G23 needs approximately 31" of water, with the prop being the low point on the bottom of the boat when it is floating.

I run a Floe VSD lift, the back cross beam is 12" wide and with the feet add another 2"

I ran most of the season with my hoist in 36" of water and had no problems however I cannot drive through the hoist, we would drive in and back out.

I moved to the hoist deeper when the water level dropped to 34" as the center tracking fin becomes a problem at approximately this depth for my setup.

my dealer told me I would not have any problems with my setup in 36" of water as long as I drive in and back out and he was right.

            I hope this helps

Do think you needed more clearance (water depth) for just the bunks when you changed from the 19 to the 21. I'm shallow at my dock. Directly behind my boat lift it has been blown out a bit from going in and out. I just can't lower the bunks any further.

At 34" did you have an issue with the bunks not being deep enough or just the tracking fin hitting?

              Thanks

I have a wonderful dealer; I'm very happy with them. I think my dealer is probably among the best educated - as they are the highest volume dealer in the US and only deal in Nautiques. That said, I often find myself vastly better educated than they are - often via this forum. In other words, "ask your dealer" can be a less than satisfactory method, especially for those who's dealers are not "Nautique only" and lower volume.

I have never had a problem being hung up on the bunks but it is important to always lower the lift right to the bottom regardless of if you are floating or not.

Generally, at the depths I described above my boat would be floating and I could still let the bunks down an additional 2"-3"

I would also recommend just going really slow when you back off the hoist, if we think it is going to be close we actually slowly push the boat back so if the tracking fin does make contact there is not any damage, the times it has made contact it was very slight but did come off when we unloaded some people.

if for whatever reason you do end up unable to get off the hoist there are solutions your dealer can go over with you, neither of them are desirable.

I checked my boat every weekend with a underwater camera and recommend doing the same, there are many online for reasonable dollars.

                  hope this helps.
