Got my G23 in the basement

I've searched the web and forums for a few weeks trying to figure out if my G23 would fit in my basement. After alot of measuring I found what works for me. Hardest part was locating 4 bare trailer rims. You can find them all day long on market place with tires but obviously I didn't need the tires. Got the driveway measured and taped off (will paint markers later) centered it up and just barely fit. Had roughly 2" on each side of rub rail and maybe 1" up top with tower down. Garage doors are 8' tall and 9' wide.

So 4 15" rims, old carpet strips to keep from scratching the concrete and it's in.

Over the winter ill fab/build an electric trailer dolly to make it even easier. I'll only have to put it inside 1-2 times a year so no prob.

great problem solver !!! maybe this will inspire some trailer company to make spin off wheels for quicker removal that has a permanent rim behind the existing wheel and tire...or maybe some type of lowing hydraulic that would lower in a few seconds I'm sure there are few hundred boaters who would love to put their precious baby in the garage for winter but have not thought of what you did...

You put a G in an unfinished basement! That is not acceptable.

I had a similar problem and used skates that allows me to move it in different directions. Just barely fits in an 8' high garage door.

Theres a 1/2" lip and the concrete inside the door frame slopes up. The rollers were near touching before adjusting my hitch down to pick the rear up.

I looked at these but didn't think I could get them over the lip where the basement pad and driveway meet. I may steal this idea next year when it comes to pulling it out of the basement.

I have a transition from asphalt to concrete and a slight slope up as well. The lip between the asphalt and concrete is not an 1" but the skates make the transition well. I also had to drop the front to allow the tower and bimini to clear the garage frame.

I am not able to back the trailer all the way into the garage using the truck because I need to drop the front, so I back it in part way, disconnect the truck and place the jack on a skate, that lowers the front enough to clear the garage. I use a come along and tow strap to pull the boat the remainder of the way into the garage. It is a little bit of a process but works. Once all the skates are on the concrete you can push the boat around, takes some effort but it can be done.

I see.. Thats why in the next couple weeks I will be building an electric trailer dolly. Should make the process even easier not having to use a truck and another person spotting. Where did you buy the skates?

Also, did you have to remove the guide polls from the trailer? Mine was too wide to fit with them still on.
