FCT Clamping Wakeboard Rack

Hi what year FCT had the clamping wakeboard racks ? Thank You Joe

Any clamping racks would have been aftermarket accessories. Clamping racks did not meet Nautique's safety standards.

Those look familiar, but I can't quite place them.

If you are looking for a set for a current boat, check out the PTM Edge clamping racks. I used those for a couple of years and liked them.

Now, I do like the Roswell Triton racks (or the Nautique version of those racks) better than the PTM Edge racks. I ended up selling the PTM Edge racks and moving to the Tritons.

Mastercraft have FCTowers on them because the clamps are the same size as the flight clips. I am going to order a new dimensions tower and so far I can not find the flight clips for it. I have been on ebay watching for them. Its hard with so much misinformation out there. Their are 2 different items on ebay the picture I posted was classified as off a Nautique and the second item is just the clamps (just like the ones on the rack picture I posted, not the same as the clamps on the flight clips)

There was talk of Nautique adding those racks from the factory back around 2003 or 2004, but they never made the decision to do so due to the danger associated with clamping racks. I wonder if those are some of the prototype racks they were considering. Interesting. I am trying to remember the brand of racks they were considering. I actually called the factory back in 2003 to ask about this. Spoke to Jeff Warner, and he confirmed that they would not be offering them.

Ok, found the old info I was looking for.

Those are the old NVert racks that Nautique was going to offer in 2004. They decided against it, and only a handful made it out the door from the factory. The issue was that the rope could get wrapped around a board, and if the driver pulled a rider up with the rope around a board in the rack, the board could come out and hit a passenger. The clamps do not hold the boards very tightly. Evidently MasterCraft had that happen with similar racks, and was sued. The decision was made to not have those as a factory option after that.

Jeff Thank You for all your research great information. On ebay you can buy the clamps(attachments) and rubber inserts the guy has 7 used available another seller had six clamps for sale and the above rack from a different seller. I contacted all 3 sellers the seller with the rubber inserts said he took them out of broken racks the seller with the rack has only 1 because the other broke the seller with the clamps sent me a picture of the rack above they were removed from. I would assume that these racks must have had problems. I just wonder how 3 different sellers ended up with these parts Joe
