Hello, I just put an offer on a nice 96 Sport Nautique that I was refered to by skinautique in my last post. I have a few questions I hope someone can help me with. The boat was in very nice shape overall but the bottom had two spots of fiberglass damage. One was about the size of a quarter on the back by the rutter and one was about four inches long on the v of the hull. They were not very deep and the owner of the marina said he could fix them and the fiberglass would be as strong as new. Is this a common thing to get fixed and should be no big deal. The other thing is the owner of the boat told the marina that the motor was replaced in 2000 because of some freak defect. The marina owner didn't know the details, it has a gt40 310hp motor, has anyone heard of something like this happening? The motor was replaced by pcm under warrenty. From what they told me it only has about 50 or 60 hours on it. Should I be concerned about this.
Thanks Ken
