Oregon newspaper article on the Willamette river restrictions. Interesting how they cite the recent escalation in the size of surf machines as part of the basis.

Out of curiosity, I looked at google maps to see how wide the river is in some of the new 'transit only zones' and it's pretty narrow...as little as 700 ft wide in places.

I’ve been on that river years ago and it isn’t wide at all. I can see where surf waves would cause some issues

In NH "we" just quite successfully organized to oppose a bill that was step #1 towards banning/restricting wakeboats.

We have been working on this for almost 2 years. Proponents of the bill had about 120 people speak or write in to the NH House Resources Committee. Opponents from the wakesports commmunity had over 1200 speak or write in. 10 to 1 in opposition!! The committee recommended to kill the bill and it will more than likely be voted down by the full house in the coming weeks.

Grass roots efforts can get it done!! Get organized and start fighting these regulations locally.

Excellent. With the power and resources of the wake boat manufacturing industry, I sure wish they would be more involved in the grassroots efforts and/or coaching us. Generally states are kicked or blindsided with these proposed bills without knowing anything such as what just occurred in Virginia. We got lucky in VA, but I know the proposed restrictions will yield their ugly head again in the near distant future.
