What's the longest tow for a vacation that you have done?
What's the longest tow for a vacation that you have done?
I'm just curious as to how many of the CC loyalists tow their boats to different lakes for vacations, and what is the farthest some of you have gone with your boat?
thanks,
Jack

Not a vacation but I drove quite a long way to buy my boat. 860 miles to get it then 860 back with the boat in tow. Left on a Friday to go get it. Skied all day Saturday and then drove back with it on Sunday.
That was a lot of fun but then the following Monday I helped a friend drive his moving truck from Texas to California with his truck in tow. That was about 1500 miles and wasn't nearly as much fun.
My dad and my father-in-law have mastercrafts and we used to tow both those boats 900+ miles every summer for vacation. So does two boats 900 miles = 1800 miles? Anyway I know, I know, mastercraft is like a bad word around here, but man those were fun trips, and back then I didn't have to pay for the gas!
It wasn't for a vacation, although it was probably as much fun! My dad, myself, and a friend of mine towed from Longview to TN to get the NDT put on it!
Way worth the distance!

I guess our tow is not that long each summer, about 250 miles each way. But we do pass thru the Sierras at about 9500 ft then end up at lake level at 7200'. Takes about 6 hours on mountain roads. best thing is the Nautique is the only thing left with power to pull a skier at that atitude Yellow_Flash_Colorz:
In April we went on a house boat trip down to the Murray River in South Australia. I had a tow of 1300km to get there. I sold the boat I took with me to Slim (also a member of this site) he had to tow it 2600km home to Western Australia.
We tow our SAN twice a year from the Netherlands to France. A 800miles single trip for a whole week of non-stop wakeboarding, wakesurfing, kite surfing, and other sports.
I don't know if we make the right decision to go to this place next week... What do you think?
I havew towed from Virginia to Orlando a few times, and from Virginia to New Hampshire a few times, and from Virginia to Ohio a few times...

Good post, 1000 miles from Minneapolis to Dallas each year for the past 2 years. Not that bad. Just hop on I35 and set the cruise. 13-14 hours later wake up. Real boring drive but worth the warm weather in the spring.

I drove from Minneapolis to Lake Berryessa in Winters (Sacramento) CA to pick my Super Air up. Left Friday night, got home Monday night. 3900 plus miles, straight thru. Was in Winters for about three hours.
I have a cabin in North Idaho, near Lake Pend Orielle, which is 1350 miles, going to start taking her out there every summer one of these years.

360 miles down to Lake Norris, TN for annual houseboat pilgrammage. Although, this season marked the first time in the last 10 years we've gone that my boat didn't make the trip. PDT_033
Dadburn trip this season turned into an all Mastercraft show! Have to admit it was nice not to have to fuss with towing, covering boat every evening, getting 12mpg to/from, plus we got to ride behind multiple boats and not just ours. Might have to represent for the 'good guys' again next season.
