2,000 miles to Powell? HOLY MACKERAL!! I must be getting old thinking my 600 mile trek is a tad on the 'far' side.

1800 miles to Phoenix for my first boat.

Vacation-wise, we do 335mi each way to northern Wisconsin twice a year.

From Denver to Indianapolis (1100 miles), from there to Cumberland Lake, KY for a houseboat trip, down to Truman Lake, Missouri, then back to Denver. Six of us had just been laid-off, so that was our celebration trip in my RV with a buddy's boat in tow!

We usually drive to Lake Shasta once or twice a year - about 360 miles each way from here in the Willamette Valley. A Lake Powell trip has been kicked around some but we have such a great time at Shasta its hard to justify the extra 24 hrs. on the road.

We pulled the boat from St. Louis to Lake Powell trip some years ago...IIRC it was about 1800 miles each way. Couldn't imagine making the trek these days with kids.

Every summer we tow from San Diego to Lake Tahoe and back a week later. it's 14 hours up and 11 hours back. Worth every minute.

Thanks for all the posts. So, I'm not really all that crazy thinking about a tow to Lake Powell from Charlotte, NC huh??

                      WOW !!!!!!!!!!!!

Some of you have some serious TOWING MILEAGE stories ...

I'll add to the thread .... nowhere near what some of you have done.

From Folsom to Lake Shasta .... about a 3 hr drive one-way. That's my longest tow ... TO DATE.

The wife and I are talking about going down to Arizona's Lake Powell.

That's a nice heatlhy tow ..... for us, anyway.

Back and forth to Lake Cumberland several times a year -- about 700 miles roundtrip.

This year we decided to keep the boat in Ky in a dry storage spot. Cost for gas for a round trip went from $300 to $60.

Just got back from our longest tow........San Diego to Lake Shasta.
Every year.......almost 700 miles one way. I'll be honest, that drive sucks real bad......but the lake is unmatched.
