Hey guys looking for a little guidance here. I am in the market for a bigger boat (family has grown) and will be selling the current 2001 SAN (had for 6 years). My local dealer has been pushing a new 23LSV pretty hard. In their opinion the Malibu does it all better than the current Nautique line up. Initially I was looking at ONLY at upgrading to a 2018-2020 SAN 230, but after talking to the dealer they said that the 230 will be discontinued after the 2021 model. This news could drive me to the 23LSV? The top priority is getting in my garage under 94-96 inches with tower down. It is very shocking to me how hard this information in to find on forums or internet in general. I think the 230 will fit and the LSV will be very close. Does anyone have any insight into the 230 tower folded height? Any issues with head clearance when moving around boat on water? and the 230 surfing experience? I have not see the 230 in person, as my dealer said they've only sold one 230 model in the last 4 years (could be a bad sign for resale?). Just looking for some input from anyone that knows..thanks!

Don't know where the comment is coming from that they will discontinue the 230. I have not heard it, and find it hard to believe.
It is a great do it all boat, without the huge standard weight of a g series, so more easily to tow.
I assume that the 230 is easier to sell on the 2nd hand market then the 23lsv, although that is also a great boat.
Wod not listen to the dealer that much, as he is obviously pushing you to a direction which suits him the best. Try to testdrive them both and see which one you like the most.

I have a 230 but it is in storage right now. I can say that I’m just over 6’ tall and I’m a little taller that the rub rail when it’s on the trailer. There is still a few inches of boat and the windshield and the Bimini sits a little above the windshield with the tower down. I have to think it’s at least 8’. But that’s just a guess.
As for discontinuing the 230. This has been rumoured for years and every time I ask my dealer he says they would it cause it’s a cash cow and they still sell well. Try finding a used 230 right now. Your dealer is probably getting out of the nautique line or something and pushing you on the Malibu. My dealer sold me on my 230 over the Malibu years ago and then proceeded to lose the Malibu line. Like the other guy said - don’t assume the dealer is not pushing what’s best for him. Maybe they make more profit on Malibus? I’m happy with the 230 and think it’s the best value wake/surf boat you can buy but to each their own.

With Nautique expanding production I highly doubt they will be discontinuing boats. Especially a boat that sells. The 230 and the 210 are iconic boats for Nautique.
