    Looking at purchasing a 2007 SANTE 220 - any general advice/comments?

Looking for any general/advice from owners.

We really want to buy a new boat but I can’t stomach dropping 100k (we would get a mastercraft nxt). Our favorite feature of the new boats is the convertible seat to face riders. That is what leads me to the 2007 ish 220. Also want to stay under 40k.

    few thoughts from me

The interior layout seemed very bizarre at first but after really looking and thinking about it I actually think it’s cool now. I saw someone on here comment that everyone that doesn’t have a 220 hates the layout and everyone that has one loves it. I think the only thing that we probably wouldn’t ever like is how the engine protrudes into the seating space. Little odd. Also - love the idea of the trash can behind the rider. However, the breadbox on the other side may have to go. It looks like it could probably be unscrewed from the latch and the front attached to the physical hull. Can still get to the little cooler. Is that cooler about worthless FYI from a capacity standpoint?

    1. Can two people fit on the jump seat in both the forward facing and rear facing orientation? Is it decently comfortable? Looks a little ‘upright’ when it is facing forward.

    2. The boat has the ZR6. We live on a lake where we like to cruise around a bit. Cove to cove, restaurants, preferable places to surf, etc. where does this boat like to cruise RPM/MPH wise? What’s the fuel consumption look like?

    3. We aren’t big wakeboarders but enjoy surfing. I’ve read where the wake can be temperamental on these boats - but once dialed in are awesome. Any recommendations on one of the suction cup hull deals?

    4. This boat is already plumbed with a piggyback system. Two 700’s in the rear lockers and something up front I think. Owner says he thinks it’s 2800 total now. Good weight for surfing? ZR6 can pull that with loaded boat?

    5. We will blink and have 6 adults and 2 small children on boat. What’s that look like on this boat? How many adults can you put on the boat and not be on top of each other?

thanks in advance. Any other advice/comments you could give would be appreciated!

i have an 06 220 with the ZR6, bought the boat needing a lot of work, interior, wetsanding, decals, and a ton of other misc parts from Nautiqueparts.com. but ive got it just the way i want it now. I agree with the those who have it love it and those who dont, dont. we love ours, i opted to remove the bread box, sometimes i put it back in for a change as its very easy. We dont often flip the jump seat around, but when we do two adults can comfortably sit on it. The ZR6 is a beast in my opinion and you get the benefit of closed cooling which wasnt nearly as common in that year range of boats. Mine is running a surf prop the ACME 1234, it would be different for an 07 since the rotation was different on the 06 but i have a ton of power for the hole shot even loaded with all adults. Commonly we have 6-8 adults and someone surfing, never felt like I have a power issue. As for consumption maybe someone else can chime in, i dont think its bad but I never pay much attention to it as I fill up just about everytime the boat is out of the water for good measures. I opted to pull my rear hard tanks altogether for ease of maintainance, at the moment i have a 750 fatsac on both sides and a 450 under the bow seats piggybacked (dont believe it ever fills to 450), plan on buying the arrow sack to go sub floor and reclaim that under seat storage as well as probably going to 900s in the rear lockers, bought the 750s intending to piggy back and wanted something that could actually fill all the way up. The mission delta wake shaper is what i use and believe it does a good job but im looking to install the Evolution tabs on it this spring to be fully automated. The bult in cooler holds ice well and holds a 12 pack or more and normally a handle on the little shelf. All im all I love my 220 and I’d be willing to bet if you pull the trigger you’ll love yours too.

**** that looks beautiful. We want to do the exact same thing. Was your boat originally all white? We would love that look and maybe even consider white chromax lettering as well.

This is the one I’m looking at. The owner is in the process of removing the decal and wet sanding the black to hide where the logo has been. His plan is to add the lettering like you have.

I see you’ve taken. The bread box off as well.

Thats a good looking boat! Is the interior in pretty good shape? I think the white chromax would look good, I debated going that route but for the cost savings of going with the Domed numbers decals I couldn't pass it up and I think the black chrome turned out nice. Was able to get both sides of the hull decals and registration numbers matching for around 390 if I remember right. The seadek I ordered with a fellow 220 owner on here tignini, he did all the hard work on that deal so I couldn't tell you exactly where he got it from but I believe it was directly through seadek.

My boat was extremely rough when I got it, interior was molded from been stored and covered wet, on top of tearing and weak stitches. There was cracks in the gel coat from I'm assuming a wakeboard or something hitting it, hull was oxidated and decals were beat up. The old sano deck on the swim platform was cracked and actually cut a friend of mines foot one time, but I got a good deal on the boat from a friend of mine that just wanted pay off and after all my work I essentially have a new boat for less than the market value of the boat in average condition.

TexasTom i see it looks like you had to hunt down a jump seat (or whatever they are called). I’ve thought about buying a second one to be able to put a lot of people in the back or just have the ability to stretch out a ton from different seats. What are the chances nautique still
                  Makes these?

Nautique doesnt make them anymore, I didnt think i would ever find one, got lucky and found one on here in great shape. I like the strectching out idea! you do see people selling the removable seat from the 230s sometimes though, it could be modified. I was just about to start cutting on the one i bought before seeing the correct seat on here.

                        1. Can two people fit on the jump seat in both the forward facing and rear facing orientation? Is it decently comfortable? Looks a little ‘upright’ when it is facing forward.
heaps of room for two normal sized people

                        2. The boat has the ZR6. We live on a lake where we like to cruise around a bit. Cove to cove, restaurants, preferable places to surf, etc. where does this boat like to cruise RPM/MPH wise? What’s the fuel consumption look like?
mine uses about a tank a day for say 8-10 hours on the lake

                        3. We aren’t big wakeboarders but enjoy surfing. I’ve read where the wake can be temperamental on these boats - but once dialed in are awesome. Any recommendations on one of the suction cup hull deals?
surf wake is great with some extra weight. With your piggy back system will be awsome

                        4. This boat is already plumbed with a piggyback system. Two 700’s in the rear lockers and something up front I think. Owner says he thinks it’s 2800 total now. Good weight for surfing? ZR6 can pull that with loaded boat?
                        No problem

                        5. We will blink and have 6 adults and 2 small children on boat. What’s that look like on this boat? How many adults can you put on the boat and not be on top of each other?
we have 6 kids/teens in our family plus us two and we will often have another couple come with us. we find up to 10 fine. 12 gets a little crampt.

and with the breadbox removed it really opens it up.

My only complaint is the wake for wakeboarding is a bit touchy and it doesn't really cleanup until you get to 21mph, makes it hard when you have kids wanting to ride slower.

I couldn't tell you, it was on the boat when i got it.
I am going to replace the cover and make it a foot longer so it covers further back.
